Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread Sports reporter, Michelle Dapper of KCRA channel 3, covered the official introduction of Brennan Marion and said, "expect a big announcement about Sac's football stadium soon." It's obvious that Sac is all in and they are gung-ho to do whatever it takes to move up to the FBS preferably the PAC12.
At this point, it appears that they are taking a "build it and they will come" approach. There has been unconfirmed talk that the PAC12 Committee has lined up potential big donors from Sacramento businesses and local area Indian Casinos including $50 million in NIL money but it may depend on whether they get an invite to the PAC12 or a major FBS conference.
They've hired a up and coming head coach who seems to be following the style of Deion Sanders at Colorado where you come in and abruptly clean house by dismissing a lot of the players currently on the roster and bring in a huge number of new players from all over the country. It looks like they are taking a "win at any cost" approach where they are willing to embrace the new era of "professional college football" that involves players chasing big NIL deals and academics and character take a back seat to winning.
