After a 1-1 homestead, during which they again dropped out of 1st place, the Aggies take on UH for sole possession 3rd place in conference play. The Wahine are tough on their home court, and Davis has been up and down on the road this season. Keys to winning: regaining their usual 3-pt shooting touch, and avoiding a horrendous 2nd quarter - UCD has dug themselves into huge holes in that period in both recent losses.
Leading scorers Lily Wahinekapu (10.5 ppg) and Deajah Phillips (9.4 ppg) get support from a quartet of players averaging between 7 and 8 points a game. Phillips has missed the last 4 contestss for the Wahine, but Imani Perez has stepped her game up to replace her, The Wahine rebound by committee, with no one averaging more than 4.9 boards.
Ags lose 56-46. Dreadful 3 point shooting by the Aggies. They were 1-21 for 4.7%.
I watched a good portion of the first half but both teams were playing so poorly that I turned it off. It was just not good basketball by either team. At one point, the two teams had a combined 17 TO's which was more than the total points they had scored up to that point in the game.
