Plough in his weekly press inference is most excited about the o line recruits and the out of state d linemen. Says the o-line recruits are the best ever.

I'm surprised they have any cellular infrastructure in the stadium at all given when it was built. Hard to justify expense for a few crowds a year.

Anyone know anything about the stadium networking? Does it have wireless access points? Cellular antennas? Micro cells, telecommunication closets, racks, availabe fiber uplinks etc. Maybe building wireless communication infrastructure should be in the upgrade plan. Could be a project with a significant cost.

That fan was betting his house on Davis. He had a hard time speaking.

The cell coverage is on the carriers They have to have capacity for an unexpected 10,000 customers showing up on their towers.
Major stadiums have micro cell infrastructure located in telecom closets in the stadium. But someone has to pay for that.

North Dakota State seemed uninspired. Their QB doesn't seem.very animated, which gives team a robotic look. But for whatever reason Illinois State dominated their offensive line.
On offense Illinois State ran over 90 plays. Illinois State has a big running back, better than Rhode Island's. Two outstanding receivers. Going to be a tough opponent.

As best i can tell the rule is calculated X= .30 * number of scheduled games, where playoff games count. Fractional results are rounded up to the next whole number.
Example team plays 11 games times .30 yields 3.3 so that is rounded up to four.
Davis has 12 games in regular season plus the 2 playoff games totaling 14 games.
    .30 * 14 = 4.2 rounded up is 5 games. The Connors.are.eligible by rule. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Pinnick’s knee was down where hey said it was. It wasn’t about the slide initiation rule.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: #9 Rhode Island (11-2) @ #8 UC Davis (8-3)
Akem’s Analysis, Hero Sports, and Sports Illustrated previews don’t think much of Davis' defense, because they all look at statistics for the whole season, which include the Washington game.
A better measure is how Davis did in conference, which happens to be games without the Connors brothers, where Davis was second in scoring defense, third in total yardage defense. If we look at pass defense Davis was second best in percentage of completions and yards per attempt. And only for the last three games have we had both of our top cornerbacks available.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: #9 Rhode Island (11-2) @ #8 UC Davis (8-3)

Rhode Island's offensive line is perhaps short but they are heavy.A little heavier than Davis overall.
On defense they are smaller. 2 light down linemen flanked by some big outside linebackers. It will be interesting how well Davis blocks them.

He didn't mean whiteness in that sense, he meant he was going to rid the school of rational thinking. He has a top down strategy.

After Covid we had a largely veteran roster. The extra Covid year made rosters deeper and older. Hawkins would play more guys and we had a big fourth quarter point differential as a result. Now fewer 5th, 6th, 7th year players. Plough likes his position players playing special teams more, seems to me.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: #9 Rhode Island (11-2) @ #8 UC Davis (8-3)
I’m not making a judgement, just an observation. I think we have talent that doesn’t play, but depth is a combination of talent with experience.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: #9 Rhode Island (11-2) @ #8 UC Davis (8-3)
Plough is conservative about playing guys. Played 52 guys in a home game against Sac. We have depth on both lines, and at tight end but thats about it.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: #9 Rhode Island (11-2) @ #8 UC Davis (8-3)
    The SI preview says:
They should find success against this banged-up UC Davis secondary ……Rhode Island has the better overall pass rush, led by A.J. Pena, along with better talent at cornerback.

The banged up secondary narrative is somewhat dated, since Davis has had their top cornerbacks after Ty Richardson missed seven games. Among secondary starters they are only missing Rex. They have lost depth guys

Rhode Island's starting right tackle broke his leg in the first round.

Regarding Coby Herman, he will likely be the third San Diego area running back on the roster, joining Mason Walsh and Aden Jackson. I saw an interview of Coby where the interviewer commented on it.

    Yet.247sports only uses.the composite.when they rank.recruiting.classes . That.was.ridiculous for FCS teams because they were.basing class.rank on one or.two.recruits . I notice.they have more.composite.ratings.now than a few.years ago.
