I'm not sure Hawk has done enough at Davis to get that call though. Troy Taylor got out while the gettin' was good @ Sac. Hawk has been mediocre the fast few seasons.

Honestly, I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be a head coach in any sport at Davis.

I was not factoring in him as a draft pick.....Since Doss and Ulonzo weren't drafted, I assume he'd be a NDFA. One thing Lan has that Doss and Ulonzo didn't is the "acceptable" 40 time (in the 4.4's). The knee issue may scare some 7th round teams off.
Selfishly, I hope he comes back and plays again.

I have good money Lan stays next year. Loves the coaches and his teammates.

If the passing game was up to standard, this team would have been pretty damn good.

If anyone can get that 7 yard first down on a passing down, its Lan. better than Hastings forcing a slant into tight coverage again.

I'm pretty sure sports fans (and non-sports fans) across the country know "Cal" is Berkeley. IMO the rebranding is little ridiculous.

As far as UCD, I really like the CA logo..and I love the script "Davis" on the football helmets and across the front of a sweatshirt. Its unique. There is no other "Davis" out there. It works well as an academic logo and athletics logo.

My guess is it took a couple of losing years to get through the defections from the FBS-to-FCS transition. Now they have a recruiting advantage over other Big Sky teams with their "FBS level" facilities. (plus, its probably even easier to get a guy into Idaho than it is Sac!) Just my hunch.

Aggies only had 6 wins last year. I'd have to look at the history, but 7 wins seems to be the minimum for at-large selections.

Something interesting to think about (saw this over on the Any Given Saturday board):

What if Davis and Sac both finish 7-4 (if Davis beats ISU and Sac, and Sac beats Cal Poly and loses to Davis). Who gets in? Davis has the head-to-head victory advantage, but Sac has the Stanford win and weeks in the top-10.

Big Sky probably gets 4 teams this year, so:
Montana (locked)
Montana State (likely)
Idaho (likely)
Sac/Davis

My personal opinion is, if they take 4 its Sac since they were highly ranked all season.
