The Aggies will tangle with Fordham in the Bronx for the Championship of the Fordham Holiday Classic at 12:30 pm Friday. The Rams moved into the title game after dismantling Hartford 69-44 while the Ags beat Yale 71-61 to get to a chance to play for the championship.

Offensively, Fordham is not going to run anyone of the court and are averaging 57.8 ppg.. However, they are a very good defensive team that has limited their opponents to only 53.8 ppg. They have good size and are winning the boards by an average of 6 rebounds per game. The Rams are led by 6'2 Sr F G'mrice Davis. She's a talented player who is capable of taking over the game so the Ags will need to make things difficult for her and try to slow her down.

The Aggies are averaging 74.2 ppg and holding their opponents to 61.5 ppg. They continue to be led by Morgan Bertsch at 20.3 ppg, Rachel Nagel with 12.5 ppg and Pele Gianotti adding 9.8. True freshman Cierra Hall continues to improve on both offense and defense and, along with Nina Bessolo, have added a dose of energy to the Aggies when they come into the game off the bench.

The game will be broadcast live on KDVS 90.3 FM at 12:30 pm (pre-game at 12:15). Greg Wong and Max Agress will have the call and they do an excellent job.

    Go Ags!

As advertised, G'mrice Davis took over the game for the Rams in the second quarter and exerted her will on the boards (8 rebounds) with her aggressive play to take a 28-25 lead at the half. The Aggies will need to match Fordham's aggressive play to stay in this one.

Cold shooting and poor rebounding are plaguing the Aggies and Fordham takes control 42-35 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

The Aggies fall 70-62. After tying the game at 51 Bre Cavanaugh took over canning step back 3's and the Rams continued to manhandle the Aggies on the boards. The Rams had their top 3 players play all 40 minutes and they scored 68 of their 70 points. Pretty amazing trio of players for Fordham.

The Rams have not been a prolific offensive team this year only scoring over 70 points in two games this year but the Aggie defense could not gets stops when they needed it. Fordham also had 11 offensive rebounds.

The Aggies have now lost 3 out of their last 4 games. Overall, they have won the games they should have won and early on beat WSU and St Mary's. Lately, however, they have struggled especially on offense against good competition. We'll have to see if they can get back up to playing as well as they are capable of playing against the Big West.

The Ags are now going to enjoy the Big Apple by attending the "The Lion King" tonight and have a day of sightseeing tomorrow before a late flight back home.

I would add not bad for a game against the home team who got to sleep in their own beds and didn’t travel 3000 miles for the game. Travel stress will show up on the defensive side of a game every time. I Don’t think you can coach around it.

That's a good point, 69aggie. They'll probably face a similar situation in the Big West Tournament depending upon their seeding albeit they won't be playing across the country with 3 time zone changes. The Big West Tournament can be exhausting especially for those teams that play 3 games in 3 days. Brutal!

@69aggie And a team that is used to 20 degree weather! I know the game wasn't played outside but the cold gets to you, especially if you aren't used to it!
