Aggie fans get treated to another full day of basketball today as the women take on CSUN in the first game of a double header at 2:30 pm in the Pavilion. The Matadors ended the Aggie 18 game conference winning streak just a week ago in Northridge in a 75-71 OT thriller. The Ags will be fired up for revenge in the rematch today and this should be a good one. The Aggie men play the second game against Fullerton at 5 pm.
CSUN is led by their all-everything center 6'4 Channon Fluker. Fluker was named the 2017 Big West Conference Player of the Year after becoming the first player in more than 25 years to lead the league in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. She is a big, physical athlete and she scored 22 points and had 20 rebounds in the win over the Aggies last Saturday.
Fulker is a tough match-up for any player in the league and Morgan Bertsch will need defensive help in trying to contain her today. Bertsch scored 25 points and had 8 rebounds in the first match-up between the two best centers in the Big West Conference. This will be a great battle between these two fine players today and will be fun to watch.
This is a great day for Aggie fans to get out to the Pavilion and see two good games of college basketball for the price of a single ticket. These double headers are a great bargain and lots of fun for the fans.
Not that this stuff means anything right now, but ESPN came out with their Women's Bracketology update. They have us as a 13 seed playing against Stanford at Stanford. Still have to win the BWT, of course, but this does give us a sense about how the team is regarded nationally. http://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/bracketology
