MSU should have gone for 2 to end it. NDSU would not have been stopped in second round of OT. MSU lost in part due to poor special teams (2 missed field goals and the missed extra point in OT).
And in FBS Georgia just petitioned the College Football Playoff selection committee to invoke the Sacramento State rule. Last game loss to a rival can’t be counted against you.
The Idaho FG kicker, who slipped and missed a game tying FG last year against Southern Louisiana in a playoff game that the Vandals lost 45-42, kicked the game winner tonight. This was the first playoff game in the Kibbie Dome in 30 years.
You're spot on with that. There's a very good argument that there should be no polls in football until 3-4 games have been played. Because where you start has a huge affect on how you're ranked as the season goes along. Happens at the FBS level too.
CMT you make. a great point but polls help drive the interest for the fans. For many looking at polls means learning the roster on the team, knowing a team's schedule and history. With the FCS playoffs the cream will rise and. true champion will be crowned. But polls for myself keep my interest up before season and early season.

#1 SDSU is undefeated and looks to be the odds on favorite to win the championship. They did have 2 very tough games this season: a 20-16 win over Montana State and a 17-10 win over Southern Illinois. All of their other games were pretty much blowout wins. Anything can happen but they've become an annual powerhouse program and they'll be awfully tough to beat.
