first time around, they were lights out in the first half taking a 37-27 lead. they shot 56% from the field, 57% from 3 in the first half, while we struggled with 36/22%. second half we even though we were fouling down the stretch. Need to get off to a good start tonight and get our shooters going. Anigwe had 20 which would be nice to repeat. Poly isnt a great shooting team (40%) and turn the ball over. If we stay out of foul trouble, I think our defense leads us to a victory.

The good old 8:30 tip off! It seems like we always have weird start times in the tournament. 5 1/2 point favorites. We really stunk back them the one time we played - hopefully chalk it up to COVID rustiness. Their big win over Irvine was a surprise. Let’s hope we rise up and get to Thursday

I would hope they have the waiver worked out since it would probably have been possible to add a Monday game vs a D2 team to pad the number

I had grandkids around so tried to follow here and there on live stats. Saw we closed to one point then drove the little ones home. Dropped them off, turned on the radio and we’re up 55-46 with 3:00 to go! I was less than half way home, a couple TOs, a couple 3 point plays, and we were behind for good! Ugh


The problem I see is a lack of depth. Les has no faith with the back ups beside Ba against an aggressive D. I think that’s why we struggle late especially if the front court has foul issues.

We can beat anyone in the tournament but we’re not deep enough nor have enough scoring options to string 4 in a row . Love to see at least two more wins

Back in it 37-35; if Pepper can heat up and we can keep Anigwe and Fuller in the court, we might pull it out

I don’t get it either. Announcers kept saying they could sew up at least a co-title with win, outright with Fullerton loss. Maybe big west considers it a co championship snd tiebreaker only used for seeding?

Fullerton has a lot to play for. They can still tie for first with a win, or possibly slide out of second with a loss. I expect a lot of defensive pressure from them especially when Manjon leaves the court ( they REALLY attacked DeBruhl last time). Have to shoot really well and get a (low foul) big game from Anigwe.

Probably won’t be able to watch tonight - grandkids are going to be around

I think the tournament counts as one game, no matter how many you actually play

What’s sad was we were about perfect down the stretch to tie it up, except for the Fuller in-and-out 3 ball. Stiffened on defense and got the boards, hit some keys shots, get a shot clock violation, set up Pepper for a 3….and lose on a NBA 3 from an ice-cold shooter

That sucked. Lose at the buzzer on a LONG 3 after a solid comeback

Fouls might be the killer to a comeback. Fuller and Anigwe have 4 and we have 9 team with 4:30 down 3 with the ball

Down 60-53 with 4 to go. 16 turnovers hurt. Pepper is 2-10, Fuller 3-11and they are double bonus for the rest of the way. Their zone has really hurt us

They are on a 14-2 run, and up 7

47-45 at the 12 timeout. Feels like it’s slipping away. Their defensive pressure has ramped up and we’re struggling to get shots

44-39 at 14. Jones has hit 4 3’s out of the break so I don’t think we can count on 18% shooting again

Up 25-22 at the 4 minute mark. They are 1-15 from 3 but keep firing them up. Our 8 turnovers are keeping it close.
