The basketball team played at Reno a few days ago so the might of just hung around the area for today’s game.

another solid win for the big west. Going to be a good battle for the top.

DeBruhl was a very late signing this past summer. His recruiting was hurt by the pandemic and he was going to defer college for a year to try and pickup more interest. Than Les saw him at a camp or tourney and a week or so latter he signed. Here’s a good article.

UCSB and UCI are certainly in a level by themselves in the BW. The Gauchos play at wazzu next Monday. That should be a interesting game.

Certainly looked like Les was trying to keep fresh legs in the game (though we know Les wont play guys if he doesn't have confidence in them). Add in Ba and Shaw that usually get time but didn't last night (which seems strange so, as someone posted earlier, perhaps some injury issues) and we do seem to be deeper than most years. Both teams were pretty gassed by the middle of the 2nd half last night, a lot of missed open shots, missed layups, bad FT shooting, all signs of tired legs.

I just realized it yesterday, and I usually fixate on stuff like that. Fortunately i previously got the day off (vets day on Thursday so it only made sense) so I think I’ll be able to go. But there won’t be many fans at all.

Loved Manjon down the stretch. He was quiet offensively for most of the game but was clutch at the end. If Murphy and McGill can continue to develop (and especially McGill with the 3 ball) that could really fill some holes on the team. Looking forward to seeing the team in person on Friday against EWU, an appetizer to the football game on Saturday.

We looked much better playing man to man. Offense started clicking with much better ball movement. Should be a good second half.

Miling is exactly what this team has missed. Also like the confidence that DeBruhl is playing with.

Rough start. We are in a 3-2 zone so far. Interesting as I don’t remember Les ever using that to start a game.

Too bad to hear about the Hawaii injuries. Never like to start the season like that

I’d like to think we can get closer than that, but one thing I’ve learned from watching Jim Les teams is that it takes a while for the defense to gell. I can’t get the game at Loyola Chicago a few years ago out of my head when they just back doored us all night long. Hoping we are farther along than that, but we’ll see. Go Ags!

Oh boy I remember that game well!!! What a wild one that was.

Looking forward to seeing how Milling fits in and how some of the younger players have progressed. A victory will be tough but that’s why they play the game.
