• 2025 WEEK 9: Aggies @ Bears in Greeley, CO 12:00 PM PT
I think Montana being ranked higher is merely as simple as Montana State having 2 loses (really good loses).

I think MSU and Tarleton should be swapped in both polls.
Montana always overrated now matter how good they are.

Damn....based on the SOS, Montana State is that good.

Like last year, the offense looks like it is hitting its stride and turning it on at the halfway point.

The defense, with all the key injuries, is the question going forward. Kickoff return game has become an issue as well (hopefully a short-term thing).

So far in Big Sky play the Aggies defense is holding teams to 21 ppg (vs. bottom tier offenses though).

The remaining 5 opponents can score some points (UNC scored 49 at Idaho).
    (Conference only stats):
Idaho State 26 ppg (a little surprising)
    Idaho 31.5 ppg
    UNC 33.5 ppg
    Montana State 46.3 ppg
Sac State 39.5 ppg (starting to figure things out)

I think the question is can the Ags keep these last 5 teams under 35 points and give the offense enough opportunities to score in the 40's.

Davis is scoring 37.7 ppg thus far.

Unreal to overturn that one. The guy caught the ball. Even if he didn't, there was no evidence (on the angles shown on TV) to overturn the call on the field.
  • Plough's name coming up as a possibility for Oregon State
Plough says he can win a national championship but he has to have the resources to do itBlueGoldAg

    100% believe this.

If program support from alumni and fans doesn’t continue to increase, that could be a nail in the coffin.agalum

No matter how much you love something, if you don't feel supported its hard to stay committed.
    (that was deep  )

The school / alums need to do their part if they really want something great
  • Plough's name coming up as a possibility for Oregon State
If Plough gets offered big money at a bigger school and turns it down to stay here, he will be leading by example and doing the very thing he hopes his best players will do when they are offered huge sums of money to go elsewhere.BlueGoldAg

This is a good point. Its a good opportunity to show his guys (and future guys) they are fully supported.

Ultimately this is Gary’s call and he needs to make a decision as to whether he wants to build a legacy or turn this place into a commuter campus.LeFan

What do you mean by this? Gary May needs to give Plough a raise, among other things?
In what scenario would Davis become a commuter campus? (genuinely curious)
  • Plough's name coming up as a possibility for Oregon State
......ugh.....Lets say this is good publicity for the program, and Plough is ignoring any phone calls
Vigen is a waaaaaaay better fit
Jerry Neuheisel also.....Plough bad, very bad.

You are probably right about Pinnick regarding offers. Though, he seems to be an all-in Aggie at the moment.
Getting to play baseball as well is likely unique to Davis and sweetens the pot here. I can't see that happening in the FBS at any high-level program. Hopefully we can find some dough to make it easier to keep him.
  • Homecoming: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
Yep. Lamson 222 yards per game. He is running more though- Lamson has more rushes and almost as many yards as Carter Vargas. (32 for 124 yards)

*edit* Lamson isn't running much more. Pinnick has 29 carries. A little different since Pinnick is mostly scrambling, vs. Lamson rushing as part of their offense?
  • Homecoming: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
Caden Pinnick in Big Sky play (3 games):

    62-82 75%
    10 TD 0 INT 949 yards
    213 Efficiency

Regardless of the strength of the opposing defenses so far, the most impressive stat to me is the 0 interceptions for a rs. frosh. He's been sacked 8 times - only Pennington has been sacked more times (9).

Pinnick and Lamson (Jr.) are the class of the conference. Lamson has completed 71% of his passes w/ 214 efficiency.

I did not realize Lamson was from right here in El Dorado Hills.
  • Battle for the Golden Horseshoe: UC Davis @ Cal Poly
Bad/missed calls both ways. Every game is the same.
  • Attendance
If we lived in Davis we would absolutely bike to games. As a student, we used to walk to Toomey. Good times!

I'm going to pretend I didn't see this.
All these guys would follow him to Corvallis, can't blame them......ugh...

I believe the head coach when he says he's committed to staying in Davis for a long time.
  • Homecoming: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
I watched the first half of the Poly game. They looked good. Looks like they got shut down in the second half.
  • Homecoming: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
yeah, I posted my feelings on this in the Weber thread….
Throwing to Dixon in the end zone is pretty low risk compared to slamming Rex into a goal line defense.
  • Homecoming: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
Rewarding Dixon with some touches. Love to see it.
  • Homecoming: Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
The middle of the field feels open without Rex and Porter.
No fear of getting punished either.
