Well San Diego gave them a game, but the 10th ranked North Dakota Fighting Hawks were just too fast for the Toreros. Man, ND has some really fast, young players, amazing skill position talent.
Further evidence that the Davis run offense is sub-par, Abilene Christian ran over Utah Tech for 323 yards, 8.7 yards per carry. Davis averaged 2.9 yards per carry. And totalled 133 yards.
Cal looking beautiful on Gameday this morning. The Stanford Steve banter is pretty good. Lynch is definitely going to entertain....
"Puff puff pass" during his picks :D
Less of an upset if you ask me but Top 10 teams Tennessee and Missouri both fell on the road yesterday as well. A&M absolutely destroyed Mizzou while Tennessee was stifled by the Razorbacks in a close game.
And....Washington beat #10 Michigan yesterday in Seattle.
If it makes you guys feel any better, the packed house at the Cal game didn't do much to create an inhospitable environment for the visiting team, especially in the end. I think it's both a product of the attendees not knowing enough about football (kinda like the current state of our Aggie Pack) and having had a program that's been sputtering for a while that you never draw enough consistent fans to create a culture.
*I watched this on TV so if I'm wrong because the broadcast didn't convey the true experience, then do tell me.
What a heartbreaking loss for Cal. Undefeated, #8 Miami comes back from being down 35-10 to beat the Bears with a TD with 26 seconds left in front of a sold out crowd. Damn...Cal is now 1-26 against Top 10 teams since 2004.
It's worse. They only lost to FSU 14-9, so they could easily have been sitting at 2-0 in league, a victory over top-10 Miami, and a recruiting bonanza.
Cal alums online have minimal faith in Wilcox. They see him as a nice guy but not a sharp coach, with horrible OCs. But the AD, who they don't like, extended his contract.
