  • MBB 7:30 pm Saturday ESPN3: Aggies @ Irvine for the Big West Championship
I still remember seeing him enter the game at UCI 4 years ago when Corey didn't travel with the team because of an injury. In this game we were all nervous because UCI was also near the top of the standings and we didn't have our best player, but Ritchart had a monster game and we were up by so much that Michael got a chance to play. When he came in I thought to myself, "who is that and why have I never seen him before??" And then the next 2 years he continues to get very few minutes, until his tremendous leadership as a senior this year. Really happy for the guy.
  • Answer to Our Video Issues?
The article makes it sound like he's already in control of our basketball video streams?
  • Late Season Report Card
Wow, Idaho coming to Aggie Stadium? I know they're officially an FCS squad in 2018, but I'm assuming they still have FBS quality talent. Does this mean our entire OOC schedule will be vs. FBS level teams?

I was sitting directly in front of the first down marker and remember thinking, "ok, got a fresh set of downs, let's do this!". Only to see the ball spotted 2 yards back. Then that false start, inexcusable, which made it 4th and 6th and from there we couldn't do it. I'm not blaming the refs because our terrible play got us into a situation where we needed them to make the right calls perfectly, and we also weren't able to respond when they denied us the first down, but I do think it would have made things really interesting if the refs got that ball spot right.
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
I've got 3 tickets in Section 110 available. Send me a direct message if you want them!
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
Better to be off in this direction instead of the other!

SUU will be the 3rd time this season that we're playing the team at the top of the conference standings. Had we played Weber State only a couple weeks later, it would be the 4th. A win on Saturday would be a huge statement for the program and the direction it's moving in.
  • Idaho State
I started following Aggie football only as of 2006, so Chris Carter / Bakari Grant are the WRs that stick out in my mind. How do they stack up against these other Aggie greats?
  • Idaho State
The stream is otherwise perfect, so I'm content.
  • Idaho State
Announcers keep mentioning the "kicking situation" of ISU -- anyone know what they're talking about?
  • Idaho State
Why would you intercept a 4th down pass???
  • O’Brien to be honored w/ 82 Aggies Nov 11th
Same here. UCD is truly a special place.

yikes!! Glad you and your wife are okay. Sounds like quite the turn of events but for what it's worth, it's these types of "unplanned adventures" that you can look back on years from now as nostalgic travel memories!
  • Will the Fans Ever Really Come Back?
Why don't we get to FCS playoffs before we start talking about the FBS... or even just a couple winning seasons in D1...
  • Should Tehran Thomas get more PT?
Our run game is abysmal, and is the main reason why our red zone offense is so terrible. That dropped pass by CP on 4th down saved us from a loss -- field goal would have tied it and OT basically comes down to whose red zone offense is better. CP was running through our d line all night long and would have found the end zone after 3 plays.
  • Horseshoe 2017
Technically there was also a 1.5th trophy when we got it back from CP after 3 years and it had ugly gems all over it with "F*** DAVIS" spray painted on the bottom. Every single time we get it back from CP it's either defaced or just a different trophy altogether. Is trophy #2 the original one they brought to the inaugural 2004 game? Or have there actually technically been 4 different trophies created for this rivalry?

At this rate we should just rename the series to "Battle for the Surprise Horseshoe"
  • Horseshoe 2017
That run up the middle... why is it working so well for CP?
  • Will the Fans Ever Really Come Back?
The Aggie Pack leaders weren't always so terrible. When I was a student (2006 to 2010), they regularly got crowds of students to attend games even though we were just not that fun to watch. Not to mention regularly organizing caravan-style roadtrips to away games like Portland State and Cal Poly. It's a shame the football and men's basketball teams weren't that great at the time -- good teams + good student section would have been a sight to see.

Serious question: Have you considered becoming an Aggie Pack intern? Sometimes all it takes is just one dedicated individual who has the energy and commitment to attract like-minded folks to the organization to improve it. Just an unsolicited suggestion!
  • Will the Fans Ever Really Come Back?
CP will definitely see an increase in turnout, because it is Homecoming, the Battle for the Golden Horseshoe, and a recognizable opponent. I never got the sense that most students were the type to attend two football games in back-to-back weeks, so the poor attendance yesterday could ironically have been attributed to the great attendance last week. Of course I was still disappointed, but I doubt many students knew how significant the game was or how improved the team is. It's a little early to be worried that attendance will never be high again. The more we win, the more they will come. And I'm not talking about expecting a sellout crowd immediately after only one blowout win -- it will take several seasons of consistent winning (and postseason appearances/marketing) to make our fans regularly attend in higher numbers. If Davis were in Texas, it'd be a different story, but football culture is just not the same here.

I do, however, think that our fans are terrible when it comes to Football knowledge. Why does Aggie Pack throw celebratory free stuff after the TD and not after the extra point is made? I swear they sound the loudest not when we are on defense, but instead literally right as our inexperienced kicker is nervously stepping up to tack on an extra point. Why can't they do Tube Sock Madness when the opponent is on 4th down during what could be a game winning drive (serious question I ask myself every home game)? Also, I know we all love Band-Uh! but they too get noisy at the worst times -- for example, loudly playing music right after a big play on one of our critical 4th quarter drives as the offense is rushing to snap the ball and execute the next play. And it just makes me feel bad that the football players on the sidelines have to swing their towels around and go crazy just to make the season ticket holders stand and clap a little.
  • Is this the Biggest home game in a dozen years?
If by biggest you mean most meaningful, I'd have to say yes. When was the last time we played a mid or late season game that actually mattered for anything other than a rivalry trophy? Biggs' last game may be the only exception. A win would establish us as a contender in the conference race simply from a numbers perspective, but the fact that it's a ranked and historically successful opponent that everyone already knows is a serious BSC contender just adds to the potential importance of this game. And that's to say nothing of the effect on recruiting or team's confidence for the second half of the season.
  • Week 5 games
Announcers today mentioned that next year, a win over UND won't count in the conference record but a loss would. Anyone know what that's about? UND will be an independent so why would losing to them count as a Big Sky loss?
