Absolutely. Our lack of a run game imposes a pretty inflexible ceiling on how well our offense can do in any given game.

This is so exciting. According to Massey, Weber St. is technically the underdog coming into our game this Saturday. Weird!

All of us have been conditioned to temper our expectations and prepare for disappointment given the last decade, but it's just such a nice feeling to actually feel optimism/hope and see it validated by the numbers and performance on the field.

We also need to remember that PSU was also 3-8. Their competitiveness against those 2 FBS programs, while automatically impressive due to the difference in subdivision, is a little less impressive now after seeing both teams get thrashed this weekend. Weber St. in Ogden will be a tougher team than in Berkeley or Sacramento.

They're related though, aren't they? Recruits want to see that they are joining a program that has the potential to make them winners, not a program that's been on a 4 year downward spiral. New coach made it easier to get a ton of good people. Having said that, some Gould recruits are contributing significantly so I think that's credit to coaching too. And to Gould's recruiting, of course.

2-1 doesn't seem like much to celebrate, but aside from when we were 1-0 (Azusa Pacific) in 2012, this is the first time we've had a winning record since 2010.

A "non-conference" Big Sky game, which might end up working out really well for us if things don't go our way on Saturday.

Didn't Gould start that first season 0-4, though? Completely agree that it's WAY too early to judge Hawkins yet, but there just seem to be many more indicators of upward trajectory now compared to 4 years ago. Time will tell, but I'm just happy to be cautiously optimistic instead of increasingly worried (4 years ago) or hopelessly depressed (2 years ago).

@Zander What would be your suggestion for getting to the game? Does it make sense to park at Qualcomm or instead park nearby and take the Trolley?
