Aggie football has becoming a factory for future coaching careers!
  • MBB Games at UCSD and UCI Cancelled
It really does feel like a lost season. We have season tickets and have only attended 5 games so far due to cancellations, no fan games and our own covid caution. So much for being season ticket holders this year. Two lost seasons in a row now...

I'm not sure what can be counted towards the 25 but the person who posted on the BW Boards said we could not qualify now.
  • MBB Games at UCSD and UCI Cancelled
UCI released a statement saying the cancellations are due to covid protocols within the Aggie program and, someone over on the Big West Boards Forum posted that the Ags will not meet the 25 game minimum to qualify for the NCAA Tournament or the NIT now.

Nice photos, Adam! They really capture the athleticism and physicality of the game. I had to laugh at a couple of them: in #4 the Hawaii player looks like he just saw a ghost! and int #10, Murphy has a solid hook on Colina.

    Thanks for posting your photos.

Milling took a wicked hit to the face also. It looked like they were going to review it but then they didn't. It's maddening when an officiating crew allows a ton of contact near the basket but calls touch fouls around the perimeter.

Caleb Fuller taking the hit for an offensive foul against Hawaii in the final minute was huge also. He anticipated the drive by the Hawaii player and got set just in time outside of the box and took the big hit. Huge play by Caleb!

Really good comeback win from 14 down in the second half for the Aggies. We don't match up well with Hawaii's size and length like 6'9 Anigwe guarding 7'0 Colina and 6'4 Pepper guarding 6'10 Hepa. Pepper and Manjon really sparked our comeback and we created some TO's during crunch time. Not sure what's going on with our poor FT shooting. Regardless, this is one of our best wins this year!

I think he's got a back problem for sure. I noticed how he was sitting back and very straight up when he was out of the game. I've been there and done that before too when I had some back problems.

I like seeing Milling starting now and bringing in Adebayo as first off the bench. Milling is looking much more comfortable as he gets more minutes and he's starting to find his stroke. He gives us another deep threat and that opens up the lanes a bit more. He also doing a nice job on the boards. I feel like the pieces of this team are starting to fit together much better.

We'll definitely need to play very well but I'd give us the edge considering our defense and playing at home. We defended the paint really well against Riverside. We really do need to contest their 3's and make a good percentage of ours though.

No doubt that fatigue was a factor in this game. Gross was livid in the 4th quarter as the game got very physical and I think she felt like we were pretty much getting pushed around hard and the refs were letting it go. The Hawaii coach was working the refs constantly and it appeared to pay off for her. Both the men's and women's games against Hawaii always seem to get very physical and chippy.

The only reason I can think of that Jen relies on her starters so much is that she feels like we really fall off after Svanholm on the bench. The team has struggled in a number of areas this year including TO's and long stretches of ice cold shooting which seems to happen once they start turning the ball over frequently. Our 3 point shooting has fallen off too and we are launching a lot of them. We're also missing the outstanding, veteran play at PG that we've had in the past few years with the twins and Trpcic. Those great PG's were the glue that held the team together and directed traffic when the games were tight and we've missed that this year. Our current PG's are still developing.

The players looked dejected when the game ended last night especially Turner who quickly headed to to locker room. She's so competitive like Hall and I think she's frustrated right now with all of these losses. I think the entire team and the coaches are feeling the pressure and some disappointment with the way the season is going. The Ags were overwhelming picked to win their 6th BW title in a row and it isn't happening which has to be tough on everyone.

Ags fall 57-50. The Aggies had a 13 point lead, 40-27, midway through the 3rd quarter. Then they started turning the ball over like they have all season and got outscored 30-10 in the final 15 minutes of the game...another demoralizing loss for the Ags...

The Ags stretched the lead to 14 midway through the 3rd quarter and then they started turning the ball over again and again and again. 41-37 Ags heading into the 4th.

Riverside give Hawaii their first conference loss 64-59.

Ags brought their energy to Hawaii and lead 31-24 at the half. Great hustle and rebounding by the Aggies.

We developed quite a history of great punters too along with QB's and TE's.
