It’s about time for the Big West Conference to join the crowd and sponsor a conference tournament at the end of the baseball season.
The Big West already has a conference tournament in basketball, for both men and women, with the winners advancing to the NCAA tournament. The same should happen in baseball.
There was better news on forward Morgan Bertsch. She'll miss Friday's home game against the New York Liberty with an ankle sprain, but is expected back soon. The 6-foot-4 Bertsch, a WNBA rookie who has played professionally overseas, started the first three games.
"Morgan's maybe a week or two," Wade said. "I don't think it's going to go any further than that. She was on the bike and doing some stuff today."
June 1 update: The FCS playoff committee met in mid-May to review/discuss findings from the NCAA’s research regarding changes to the bracket structure after NCAA staff has been looking into what the change in cost would be to seed more teams. After review, the playoff committee has recommended seeding the top 16 teams in the 24-team bracket moving forward. It still has a couple of approvals to go through this month, including the Football Oversight Committee. The hope is by the end of June there will be more concrete news/details.
If he is 100% recovered from injury, he should be a impact transfer for Davis.
