Montana was not surprised at all with that formation. I guess it’s good that it’s not the same matchup in the final game, but personally I hope SDSU puts the smack down on Montana. Hate to think of Bobby Hauck smirking all off-season.

I think Hardin was successful because they use a flex bone that nobody else uses and difficult to prepare for. Personally I was hoping schools of mines would win. That is a good school located on Golden, CO.

I saw a post of Gevani McCoy in which he thanked his position coaches but no mention of HC Eck. I thought that was kind of weird.

One recurring theme of teams that advance in the playoffs is good defense. Defense travels as they say. Another note is good special teams play. Special teams killed Montana State. Hoping the Ags are able to build and maintain good O and D lines. The trenches are still where many games are won and lost. Another observation is that most all QBs in the playoffs could extend plays even if not big running threats.

I know that Montana and I believe Montana State have “collectives”. In my opinion NIL is an inappropriate term as collectives just serve to funnel money to players without the necessity of a real commercial value that NIL implies. I think of it more in terms of boosters/alums supplying money to attract better talent in hopes of building better teams and therefore more wins, bragging rights, etc.

I wonder to what extent portal entrants are “testing the waters” so as not to get “left out” and ultimately return “home”. It would be interesting to see the proposition of entrants that return to base so to speak. I have no idea.

Watching the Colorado schools of mines D2 playoff game. More interesting than NDSU-USD game at this point.
