If the committee uses the ratings, we’re going to be behind. But resume, we’ve got a better one than they do, even with this win. It’s going to be close though.
South Dakota led in the one committee ranking on Oct.26, and their record since then is undefeated with a win over the Number 1 team, there is no way Davis ranks higher by the committee, regardless of score of the Causeway.
I agree, but some other things have changed which might or might not make a difference. When they decided on the the top 10, SUU was not expected to be in the playoffs. If they make it out of the bubble then that gives UCD 3 wins over playoff teams and USD would only have 1. I don't think we can overcome the pro-Dakota bias, though.
TBF, the 3 playoff Dakota schools ARE good and I think they've all earned it. I will be upset if we drop to 6 but I think 5 seed is fine even though 4 is much better. Radio crew thinks they will be a 5th seed.
Yeah I think we'll get #5 too. Just saying that if there's an equal argument to be made between one of those 3 programs (or the Montana ones) and ours, they'll get the nod over us.
As for whether there's an equal argument between USD and UCD... UCD has more quality wins (and wins overall) but USD just beat one of the perennial FCS powers.
From what I understand about the seedings, They count the number of wins over ranked teams at the time of the contest (not end of season). Early in the season, the rankings don’t mean much, but that’s what I understand. So the Ags have 2.
SUU has never been ranked and I don’t see how they will make the playoffs. Abilene Christian gets the auto bid and Tarleton will be the other team from the UAC. SUU has only 7 wins.
only a couple of seniors starting - lost a bunch in the portal during transition from Shaw to Taylor. Also, they really need a QB who can make better decisions and pass better. Daniels threw a couple picks including a late one that was just up for grabs. But yes a very young team. Taylor is a very good coach and I think he will drive a gradual improvement in Stanford’s program.
Are they really going to fire TT after two down seasons? I mean Walt Harris was the coach of Stanford for two seasons including the 2005 season vs Davis, but in 2006 they lost 11 games so that's a lot worse.
I feel like Stanford will give TT 1 more season. Otherwise I think he'd do better at Cal or another public school. Cal fans should line up to pay Wilcox's buy out to get him at Berkeley.
