  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Yeah, for this year of transition, anything less than 8-4 would still be a disappointment.

All the 12-0 talk is premature, because this is a whole new team with players from all over the country. I mean we are hopeful that they will gel, but it could also be a disaster. LOL

Yes, suspected torn pectoral, another potential boom or bust signing for what is shaping up to be just an absurdly interesting roster...

This transfer and graphic is a little more impressive because it doesn't have a school like MTSU between us and Texas A&M, and this kid has no arrest record!

Thank you, still seem to fail at embedding on your board.

Beginning this season there are changes to scholarship limits for both FBS and FCS programs.

FBS teams can now offer up to 105 scholarships, an increase from the previous 85. They are equivalency scholarships, meaning they can be divided into partial awards.

FCS teams, if they opt into the House v. NCAA settlement (like Sac State did), can also increase their scholarship limit to 105, the same as FBS, with a maximum roster limit of 105 players. FCS teams that choose not to opt into the settlement will retain their 63-scholarship limit.

LOL, clickbait. So many errors and misinformation - no clue how the funding for athletics works. I love AI generated content from Thailand. "TheTouchback.com" has picked up on a click trend for Sacramento best I can tell and jealous Idaho guy has been posting some weird videos.

It very well could be, and will be @Davis. Some transitioning schools have kept rivalry games going (like UD and Del. State), but the FBS side never visits the FCS side.

I could see SAC being hesitant enough to not schedule Davis until they are both FBS though. Perhaps both in the MWC or PAC-X in 2-3 years...

On SacBuzz, this was my best guess at what they're trying to work for 2026.

    9/5/26 Vs. Cal Poly
9/12/26 @ Fresno State (Game is already scheduled)
9/19/26 Vs. Lamar (Game is already scheduled)
    9/26/26 @ Boise State
    10/3/26 @Wazzu
10/10/26 vs. San Jose State (If we COULD host an FBS team as a transitioning program, SJSU would be it)
10/17/26 @ UCONN (long trip to fellow Indy that thinks they might clip us for a W)
    10/24/26 BYE
10/31/26 @ Oregon State (Hornets are 1-0 against the Beavers since 2011)
11/7/26 vs. Tarleton State (home and home with another team with FBS dreams?)
    11/14/26 @Colorado State (Lost to us 41-10 in 2022)
11/21/26 vs. UC Davis (Game is already scheduled, last Causeway?)
    11/28/26 @ Utah State
  • 2025 NFL Draft Thread
How long has it been since a Hornet and an Aggie were picked in same draft? If you count Skatt and Teddye (I would), there might be 2 Hornets and 2 Aggies taken in this one...
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Everything has already been filed with the NCAA, and then it moves to FBS subcommittee for approval. While not 100%, it's pretty much considered to be a done deal. SAC will play an FBS schedule beginning in '26.

There have been some hiccups with where the Olympic sports will land in the interim (with the WAC falling apart), but most people think either something will be worked out with the BSC, or we'll move to the BW, WCC or Summit temporarily.

I have been to many spring games at Davis and Sac State over the past 25 years. I think 500-ish is the most I've ever seen. So, yeah, yesterday blew my mind. There were families (like mine), dorm kids, greeks, people that wanted to hit the food trucks, local teams, good mix.

Impressive considering Kings and A's were playing, and Master's was on too.
