New offer out on ATH Ahkil Crumpton from Los Angeles Valley College. Plays WR and CB, but his highlight is that he is a return specialist. Apparently ranked as the top kick and punt returner in the JC ranks this last season in the state of CA. His announcement tweet has the hashtag HawkinsEra!

Reality check? Seems like kind of an unnecessary comment to make. Yeah I do think Coach Hawkins has a network of guys that could potentially hit the ground running if they came to Davis. Hawk has been in the game for a long time and has made a lot connections all around the world of football. I agree that there is a lot of work to do in turning this program around, but assembling a staff quickly and recruiting is part of that... you can't blow that off. Even recruits you don't end up landing are always potential transfers from another school because you bothered to go out there and make a connection.

I still imagine that Hawkins plans on bringing in his own staff. We should probably start hearing some information coming soon. The current staff is still out on the recruiting trail, but Hawk will want to get his own guys out there as well as start making plans for next season.

Even with additional UC regulation, a 30 million dollar football facility will be very substantial.

If it really is planned to be a 30 million dollar facility, it should definitely have some flair. 30 million dollars is a whole heck of a lot of money for a facility. I mean it isn't what you'll see at some of the biggest programs, but University of Miami is getting ready to put in a 34 million dollar facility for comparison.

We haven't heard an official statement from Blue on this new facility or the donation for that matter, have we? I imagine that if we were starting work on a 30 million dollar facility he would make an official statement about it so we can start getting more people in on the fund raising.
