  • Looking forward to 2025
I mostly just want some updates on how things are looking. Who is standing out pretty much. I think it might be interesting to interview some of the transfers and pick their brains on what led them to Davis.

Anyone make it out to any practices?

Maybe if Coach Choate wanted claim of Lake Tahoe, then he should have claimed it. It's not like it's a newly discovered lake. I'm not even really a fan of them, but I hope we wear them whenever we play Nevada just because this apparently bothers him. Imagine getting upset at an opponents uniform.

He should probably also focus on trying to win more than 3 games this season and not what a FCS team is wearing.

Perez has the seniority, but I wouldn't be surprised if we mostly see a combo of Fisher and Vargas. In fact, I think Vargas has the dark horse potential to take the starting role.

I think WR room has the biggest potential (outside of QB) to have a breakout player. So much of the production graduated that someone is going to have to step up. Gbatu and Dobbins can't do it all.

Pinnick is much more mobile than Hastings... Significantly so. It will definitely add a new wrinkle to the offense.

yeah I was worried when he wasn't on the roster earlier. Can't teach that kind of size and he picked the Ags over numerous other offers.

Roster has been updated again with some new names.

Fall Camp starts today. Hoping that some folks make it out to some of the practices and let us know what things are looking like!

  • Anyone know the projected 2 deep next year?
They don't typically release the 2 deep until they put out the game notes for the first game. At least as far as I can remember that is.

I guess you'd have to find a concessions stand association and forum for that
  • 2026 Football Recruiting
Even if we move to FBS I'm not sure 5 star players on our horizons any time soon. They are few and far in-between and command millions of dollars from the schools in the SEC
  • 2026 Football Recruiting
I've found this tidbit interesting. I'm not taking anything away from the recruiting job that Marion has done at Sac State because they are obviously bringing in some very talented athletes but from I've been able to find of players who received offers from UC Davis AND Sac State, Davis is winning the commitment battle 6 to 1 (6 to 3 if we're being totally fair, but 2 of those commits to Sac dropped their commitment and have committed elsewhere).

As @PortlandAggie pointed out, Rickey Johnson has committed to the Ags! Looks like they recruited him to play LB. GO AGS!

Nice catch! However, this is last year's thread so I'll get it over on this year's. GO AGS!
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Marion is a heck of a recruiter that is for sure. It's hard to argue with what he personally has been able to do at Sac so far, though I wouldn't want the number of players with criminal records coming into the program I support. He hasn't been the problem at this circus.

Being able to convince a 4 star player to come to Sac State of all places is exactly why Marion won't be with the Hornets for long. If he has success on the field this year a program that has more money than Sac is going to come knocking and looking at his track record with employment, history says he'll jump ship.

Very cool! Would love to be able to tune in but 11 PM (East Coast Ag) is getting late for me if I have to drag myself to work the next morning

Hopefully the live unedited version will be available for subscribers afterwards
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Oh, I'm well aware. I lurk around on most of the active forums for the Big Sky and theirs is the most openly hostile and like you said, not just to fans of other teams.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
@SochorField you seem to have struck a nerve over on the Sac forum

They've also had a TE, Luke Galer, decommit and pick Washington State. That was pre FBS denial though.
