Man, this is such a bummer and I hate what college football has become. Being part of a team used to mean something and now it's just every man for themselves to secure the biggest paycheck possible. Just sucks that the Aggie Pride mantra has an asterisk on it that money can be more important than that pride.

I'm not going to pretend to be happy for him if I'm being perfectly honest. I'm a UC Davis fan first and foremost and I don't feel super inclined to root for guys who want out of the program for what they think are greener pastures.

yeah with the portal period as short as it is, I would think you'd hear announcements very quickly. I don't think they'll all be today necessarily, but if we don't hear anything in the first couple I think it's at least safer to say any particular player is staying.

where were reports that Cofield was planning on entering the portal? I know some folks were speculating based on his performance, but I haven't seen anything on social media so far that indicates that he's going in the portal. I guess we'll see.

I 100% agree in terms of the receivers. It's tough in the FCS though because you end up in a situation most of the time where you ONLY get to pick two of 1) big 2) fast 3) talented. Guys who meet all 3 criteria are getting big checks to play in the FBS. It seems like Plough's MO is to pick fast and talented, but it would be nice to have a guy who can be your jump ball receiver down in the red zone. I think we saw that once Carter went out with injury, our red zone offense just didn't feel deadly which won't win you a championship.

And while he was successful before at Sac are we totally discounting the fact that his Stanford teams were pretty bad?

the circumstances at Sac are VERY different now than his time coaching there. There's zero guarantee he would be immediately successful there again.

I hope we recruit WR Legend Lyons from the University of Minnesota. California kid and we had an offer on him out of high school.

By all reports he is also a finalist for the job. Some guys over on their forum are saying Carter is basically a done deal at this point.

Hornet fans aren't taking this well. A lot of them are saying Taylor or they are cutting their support for the program.

I will say that we have a pretty favorable schedule next season. If we can keep building off of this season we should be a playoff contender again.

I think Caden is coming back, but I'll feel better about it when I hear an announcement saying that he is.

I agree that Plough has the program headed in the right direction, just very disappointing that the quarterfinals continues to be our downfall. It will be awhile before we are possibly headed to the MW so let's try to win a FCS natty first.

If he wants to stay on as the TE coach that's fine, but there's no way Chapatte can return as the special teams coordinator
