For what it's worth, Massey has UNC ranked similarly to Cal Poly and is giving us a 97% chance of winning.

UNC is not a good football team. It took a monumental effort from Weber to lose to them. As they say, "any given Saturday", but I have a hard time seeing the Ags losing especially at home.

Ags also ranked #5 in the AGS poll. So coaches, media, and fans are pretty consensus on us right now. I don't necessarily feel like we're the #5 team in the country, but as others have stated I do think a 10 win season is possible. MSU is probably a tall task.

Just got done watching the recording of the game and man... it feels good to be 7-1!

    - At the start of the season I was very VERY concerned that this was going to be another shaky season from Miles, but especially since Big Sky play he has turned on the Jets... 206/303 (67.99%), 2515 yards, 20 TDs, 6 INTs. I mean, he's putting up conference player of the year kind of numbers. At this rate, at the very least he should be 1st team all Big Sky. I'm glad that he's had such a tremendous come back season.
    - What else needs to be said about Lan? Currently 3rd in the conference in rushing yards, 4th in receiving yards, and 1st in points scored. He really is that guy.
    - Could have gone without that muffed punt towards the end of the game. Mistakes that against MSU or potentially in the playoffs can be game losing mistakes.
    - Speaking of punting... we've had too many flubs of kicks this season so I went back to the conference stats and Banks-Altekruse has the lowest average punt of the 12 punters being tracked and the only punter to have a sub 40 yard average. Now some of that may be shorter punts due to field position, but there have been plenty of just not great punts this year.
    - Defense in the first half was great. EWU is going to score points so holding them to 9 at the end of the half was huge. Didn't particularly adjust well in the 2nd half, but did get just enough stops to help get the win.

GO AGS! BEAT THE BYE WEEK!

This is kind of off topic for this thread specifically, but did anyone else notice that we've started doing the helmet sticker thing? I don't remember them before this season. I have to be honest that helmet stickers are 1 of 2 BIG uniform pet peeves of mine that I have in college football (along with alternate uniform colors that have no relation at all to the schools colors) so this is not a great development for me personally, but at least as far as helmet stickers go they are fairly tame.

I don't know, maybe it's just me. The lady at home is a FSU Seminole and she says she likes their tomahawk stickers.

Hopefully the game against Poly gave the team confidence to execute throughout the game. If we play like we did against PSU, we will lose to EWU. The Eagles benefit from having a lot of guys who can run the ball effectively from the RB and QB positions and can wear a team down. The defense will need to keep an eye on where Chism is and make sure he's covered because he's target #1 for the QB, but we also have to be ready for the QB to take off. Shut one of those things down and make them 1 dimensional.

Like I said, even on their down years they seem to have our number. I'm hoping for a win, but I always brace for the loss until the team can prove that they can get over that hump.

What a performance! One that we have been looking for all season! That felt like what was promised with the Shredville moniker.

Miles Hastings went 27/30 (90%!) for 458 yards and 4 TDs. Excellent outing from him. I've been critical of Miles before, but after a little bit of a shaky start to the season he's really putting together a nice campaign. I'm happy for him and hope that he continues to play with confidence. Grant Harper had some nice throws at the end of the game and showed off his wheels which is a nice wrinkle to the offense.

Miles was really spreading the ball around too. 4 receivers with 80+ yards with Chaz Davis breaking the 100 yard mark. Dobbins had a nice breakout game. His speed is definitely noteworthy. Frankly most of our receivers had no problems getting behind their DBs, but that might just be a general characteristic of Poly's defense as ISU shredded them through the air last week too.

The run game was a team effort, but still nice to put up 182 yards against a team that as @Riveraggie mentioned was only giving up 96 per game coming into this contest. Now, Jordan Fisher came in at the end of the game against a tired defense, but I have to agree with @movielover that his explosiveness is too apparent to ignore. I do worry that his slighter size might be holding him back from the grind of being an every down back.

Rex Connors led the defense in tackles and had his pick 6. Nice to see him get back out on the field in a healthy manner. Nice day from Sam Goligoski too as he picked up 2 sacks.

All-in-all, great day! Time to get ready for the trip to EWU. We have to break the curse of never beating them. GO AGS!

Not only is it weird to go for trick plays up almost 40 with your starters. It's embarrassing to turn it over twice doing so.
