  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
    https://nevadasportsnet.com/newsletter-daily/details-from-uc-davis-heavily-redacted-membership-agreement-to-join-the-mountain-west

    * UC Davis has first right of invitation if the MW elevates a football program from the FCS level; that could complicate the MW attempting to add a school like North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Montana, Montana State or Sacramento State

    * UC Davis will get a phased-in share of the MW's NCAA Tournament units, starting with one-sixth share of those units in 2026-27, a two-sixth share in 2027-28 and so on by a one-sixth share each year until getting full-share status in 2031-32. For each NCAA Tournament unit earned by UC Davis, it will increase its share by one-sixth

    * UC Davis agreed to give the MW a grants of media rights through June 30, 2032, which is a condition the remaining MW schools also gave to the conference

    * UC Davis would owe the MW $3 million if it does not join the conference in 2026

    * UC Davis' entry fee to the MW, which was redacted, will be paid in six annual installments; Northern Illinois had a six-payment entry fee totaling $2 million to join the MW

    * UC Davis agreed to increase its annual men's basketball expenses to certain financial levels in 2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29; those specific benchmarks were redacted; UC Davis spent $2,823,059 on men's basketball in fiscal year 2023; comparatively, Nevada's men's basketball budget in 2023 was $4,978,558; the MW's lowest figure was San Jose State at $3,254,424, more than $430,000 higher than that of UC Davis

    * UC Davis agreed to spend a minimum figure in men's basketball game guarantees for "winnable home games;" that benchmark was redacted
  • 2025 Football Recruiting
Seems like a lot of these late offers are on real under the radar kind of guys. A lot of D2 offers. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not looking like we're really offering any high profile players late in the game here.

Anyway, list has been updated. GO AGS!
  • Aggie Pride: A UC Davis Football Podcast
Pumped for the first episode of 2025! I'm already looking forward at the roster and trying to fill in the empty spaces. The offense is going to be so different, I'm interested in your guys' takes on QB, RB, WR, etc. Gonna be a lot of new faces all around.
  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
    Kavir Bains commits to Pitt
  • 2025 Football Recruiting
Nice! The brother of incoming freshman QB Treynor Cleeland! GO AGS!

  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
It'll be interesting to see if Plough makes a move on this. We had an offer on AJ last year and he is from Davis. Come on home and bolster the OL!

  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
I live in SEC country and I can say that it is not uncommon at all for people to follow their rival's recruiting. That being said, football is a way of life down here. I also don't think there is a singular correct way in being a fan. If you don't want to be invested as much as others that's fine just as it's fine if there are folks who do want to be heavily invested.

I think going out hiking is kind of strange, but it's totally fine if people want to do that.
  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
Josh Gale has entered the portal
  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
Sac State is killing it in the portal right now though. Marion is going to have them reloaded with talent immediately. It's just a matter of implementing his plan which is a coin flip if it works in year 1.
  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
I think just going after USC kids is easier said that done in the NIL era. Even benchwarmers at some of the big name universities are looking to get a big pay day. For some it will happen, for others it won't.

Dang... 6'6 transfer WR Cameron Barmore commits to University of Arizona
  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
Sac also brought in a QB from Tulsa. It'll be interesting to see if Marion rolls with Conklin or the FBS transfer.

No incoming transfers that I have been to find, but the handful of offers that are on the recruiting thread. I'm sure that we'll see some incoming guys. We have plenty of holes to fill on offense.
  • QB1 in 2025
I think it's especially going to have to be part of the playbook this upcoming season purely based on our sustained losses to the offense. We're losing the production of Larison, Hutton, Davis, Tompkins, Williams, etc. I don't think we'll just magically replace that level of production so some yards are going to HAVE to come on the ground from the QB. Miles could do some rollouts, but utilizing his feet was pretty much the weakest aspect of his game.
  • Playoff Talk 2024
After watching both games yesterday, I think MSU wins it. Better the Big Sky than one of the Dakotas I guess.
  • 2025 Football Recruiting
New offer on All-American Tufts University DB Ty Richardson! GO AGS!

  • 2025 Football Recruiting
New offer on 3 star WR transfer from University of Arizona, Jackson Holman! GO AGS! That makes 2 WR transfer offers who are 6'3 or taller.

  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Marion has a very unique offense that was effective at UNLV this last season. The Go-Go offense is almost like a triple option offense, but one that's not terrified to throw the ball. It'll be interesting to see how quickly he can get it up and running at Sac. I think this is a good hire for the Hornets, BUT he's done nothing but move up the coaching ladder and has never stayed in 1 singular coaching position longer than 2 seasons so if he finds quick success it'll be interesting to see how long he sticks around.

  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Honest question. How attractive is the Sac job right now, actually? The whole Sac12 thing seems shady at best and they just had a monumental drop off from 2 seasons ago.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
The show and dance is getting a little stale IMHO

There's a guy over on the Sac forum saying that Marion is NOT the guy now.

We definitely need the punting help. The aforementioned Chris Sailer has Hughes ranked as his 11th best punter prospect in the country.
