Absolutely bad calls went both ways. I already said it probably didn’t make a difference and Davis was the better team last week (and this week too).
What got me on this play and he was juggling it on the way down and it bounced off the ground and up into his stomach and they still called it a catch after reviewing it. Once again I am not saying it was a game changing play, just they got this call wrong like many other that night that went against both teams. I was not impressed with the refs, but was impressed with the Aggies.
The offense is more dynamic with Deiffenbach. Can go deep with his arm and can run. Bo Kelly is a great leader, but Deiffenbach brings better physical talents to the offense which opens up the play book.
I am not into moral victories, but I do think this game shows Cal Poly might of finally turned the corner on righting what was a sinking ship for the last decade. Good luck the rest of the season. If the Mustangs do not win a Big Sky Championship I am pulling for the Aggies.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Deiffenbach in the second half. 2nd string QB Grisby is also available. The offense is more dynamic with Deiffenbach. He has a bigger arm and can stretch the field. He can also scramble for big yards. Puts a lot more pressure on a defense.
The only game that Cal Poly has been favored this season was Western Oregon. We were 3 point dogs against San Diego and 16.5 point dogs against Sac State.
The last few years only once or twice a year. That said, I expect this game to be sold out. It is homecoming, it is UC Davis and we are coming off a big win. It is also supposed to be a beautiful day. Sunny with a high of 76.
Against Sac we started our 4th string QB. To be fair he beat out our 3rd string QB who threw 3 INTs against SFA when he replaced an injured Deiffenbach. Deiffenbach leads the Big Sky in passing efficiency at 196.2. If he is cleared to play he is a difference maker.
