+1. This kind of stuff really resonates and has an alarmingly far-reaching negative impact. Seriously . . . get it together.
  • Bama vs. Minnesota hoops
Minn could have easily run it up. Pitino took the foot off on purpose. He, likely, after seeing that the game was in hand with the 2 man advantage, didn't want to add fuel to the fire. Class move in my book. Tempers flare in sports - it happens. There was nothing to be gained by exploiting the circumstances and winning by 40, or drawing fouls to leave fewer of 'Bama's players on the floor, etc.
  • MBB: AGGIES vs. sac state @ Golden 1 Arena
I love that Chima has an off night and still contributes 19 and 15. Bodes well for nights when his shots are falling like rain.

Siler collected his third blocked shot in the last two games - he's really a pretty complete guard. Great secondary defense as well - got a couple of swats while someone else's assignment made a move through the lane. Also got a "grade school strip" in the low box; y'know where the guy picks up his dribble and then turns in to the defenders area dangling the ball right in their lap and it's easy pickins.

AJ John is a stud. His hustle and effort last night were awesome. Hit the deck on a couple of occasions diving for loose balls, etc. Nice stroke from outside, and the body and determination to bang inside when he needs to. Great game for John and I look forward to more in the future.

Shorts had another game that gives me comfort that during the season he and Hennings will steer the offense well.

Goode causes trouble in the paint for the other team, but I agree with BGA that I would like to see his offensive production improve.

Jackson is a man-child. Still so young, but sooo talented. Just young and needs experience.

    Questions moving forward:
    - Can Mooney get enough minutes to hit his stride consistently? Good shooter, plays hard. His low minutes, however, make it tough for him to make many errors and stay on the court.
    - Will Printup see the floor much? Got a sweet stroke from distance but I have no idea about his current defensive prowess given how little he's played this season. In his freshman campaign, he looked good offensively and fair defensively.
    - Which "big" comes off the bench when the ranks get thin from foul trouble or otherwise? Russel or Strom?
    - With his early season productivity will John crack the starting line-up over Onyebalu?
  • 2018 Recruiting List
    Hmmmm.... Pure speculation but this young man was at yesterday's game . . . positive comments . . . 916 resident . . . https://twitter.com/pesefea54/status/929559121883308032
  • Men's BB Opens the 2017-18 Season in Exhibition vs Bethesda
Saw recruit (and Harvard commit) Mason Forbes from Folsom at the game. Don't know what that means exactly (shrug) . . . just making an observation. http://verbalcommits.com/players/mason-forbes

Lawrence White and JT Adenrele were also in attendance.
  • Week 8: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
Thanks ML. Great to hear that he's doing better. Seems like a terrific young man and an outstanding ambassador for UC Davis. Again, just glad he's on the mend.
  • Week 8: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
Does anyone know the status of Parenteau?
  • Maier and Doss are that good
His one-handed grab along the visitor's sideline made it to #6 on SportsCenter Top Ten.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
Just saw him on the sidelines in street clothes. The way he was being assisted I wonder if he's in concussion protocol. Big loss.
  • Week 3: UC Davis @ Portland State
CJ's got to make that throw. Glad we got points nonetheless.
  • Week 3: UC Davis @ Portland State
This stream is solid. Thank goodness. GO AGS!!
  • Aggie Stadium
I drove by the stadium yesterday and saw the board in action. In the immortal words of Jeff Spicoli, "Awesome! Totally awesome!"
  • Montana signs sponsorship with Big Sky Brewing Co.
Sudwerks brewed Aggie Lager a few years back. Don't know if they still brew it. The beer that is now served at Basketball and Football games is, if I understand correctly, exclusively Sudwerks.
  • Mark Payne retires at 29
Mark and Joe were really fun players to watch.

The trio of Payne, Harden AND Eddie Miller together were a blast to watch; 3 pretty polished "gym rats" just battling on the floor. Never forget Miller's inbound bomb to Payne to grab a last second win against UCI(?).

  • Kehei Clark --MVP Nike Tourney
I think another AAU teammate, Jack Shweitz(sp?), is also being tracked by Aggie coaches.

I wholeheartedly agree about the educational component that Davis offers over most other institutions. It's an oldie but a goodie, "Son, this a 40-year decision, not a 4-year decision."
  • Kehei Clark --MVP Nike Tourney
Following the game a lot of folks in the twitterverse were commenting that he probably won't stay with his commitment to The Aggies - some other school is going to swoop in. HOWEVER, Kihei appears to remain loyal to Davis. His verbal commitment is still his "pinned tweet". And he has commented to folks that he absolutely intends to become an Aggie.
