  • Mikey Henn is transferring
    Thank you. Excellent article.
  • Les Could Be Considered for New Mexico Head Coach
My heart sunk for a moment. "New Mexico hires AGGIES coach", almost stopped breathing.
  • Mikey Henn is transferring
According to my research there are about 425 players (give or take) that are in some flux with regard to an announced transfer. Only 99 of which have announced a new school.

I did read that LBSU is losing sophomore SG Noah Blackwell (a local product) and senior PG Justin Bibbins and sophomore PG Loren Jackson AND Roshon Prince. 4 contributors. CSUN is losing Kendall Smith. Hawaii lost 2 guys. Cal Poly lost a dude. No defections from UCSB, UCI or UCR, but it's still very early.

The transfer list has kids from all sizes and shapes of Universities and Colleges. The Big 10, The Ivies, Pac-12, powerhouse basketball schools like Kansas, etc. It's very very common. I don't know about how we compare on average but I'd imagine that we are below average when you consider a 5-10 year sample.

I'm sorry to see Mikey go. Same goes for Peter Hewitt. I wish them both well.

I wonder too. Transfers in Div 1 basketball are alarmingly common but Mikey's struck me as particularly odd. Started the year pretty fast, playing time waned, then flashes of studliness mixed with flashes of freshman-ness.

Incoming freshman Strom may have influenced...AJ John's likely significant PT may have played a role...

    Anyone have any insider intel?
  • Les Reportedly to Be Interviewed for Cal Head Coaching Position
Cal needs a bigger splash, I think. Collins, Hurley (URI), etc. But more likely is they go hard after Bennett at St. Mary's.

Or, and this is absolutely likely, I am crafting ANY alternative narratives because I desperately want to keep Coach Les an Aggie.
  • MBB: Aggies (19-11 & 11-4) @ UC Irvine (18-13 & 11-4) Big West Championship Game
Nothing to add really as far as game observations go.

Frankly, however, I'm not fazed. Yep...we stunk. BUT...UCI was out of their minds. Nelson hit an NBA distance+ 3 with LJ in his jersey that banked in (uncalled glass, btw). Remember the CSUN game where we were like 75+% from the field and like 80% from beyond the arc. When one team is that hot and the other is that cold...it happens. It's unfortunate, but it happens. Unless it's the Aggies that are white hot; then it's awesome!

I wouldn't be at all surprised if our men touched down last night and headed straight for the gym. Not the coaches, the players. Whether ironing out shooting, or talking/walking through defensive rotation assignments, etc. I'd be willing to bet there was some activity in Hickey late last night.

    GO AGS!!!! BEAT POLY!
  • Aggies v. The Beach on ESPNU - who's going?
In the immortal words of Coach Hawk, "Awesome!"

    Thanks!!
  • MBB: Long Beach State (13-17 & 6-8) @ the Aggies (17-11 & 9-4) ESPN Game
Just a thought but this would be an awesome time to have Delveion Jackson in the building and have him ink his NLI and transition for "verbally committed" to "signed". Again, just a thought.
  • MBB: CSUN @ The Aggies (2/23)
I could be wrong but I thought I saw that the Fan Feast was a residence halls promotion.
  • Aggies v. The Beach on ESPNU - who's going?
Any chance we can move this thread over to Hamilton Court?
  • MBB: Long Beach State (13-17 & 6-8) @ the Aggies (17-11 & 9-4) ESPN Game
Emphasis on LOUD. Don't clap politely. Make the environment uncomfortable for LBSU. Let's go fellow alumni! Show the Aggie Pack what deep Aggie roots look and sound like, so in a few years they will carry on the tradition. Create the culture, promote the passion.

    GO AGS!!!

p.s. Sac State sucks. (random jab just for kicks.)
  • MBB: CSUN @ The Aggies (2/23)
I totally agree. Each conference should be free to determine who moves on to the Big Dance. And in the case of the BW, it should be the regular season conference champion, IMHO. Our 2014-15 team should have gone dancing. Playing in the NIT that year, against eventual NIT champ Stanford, was a great experience (even if Corey Hawkins was the only offensive weapon to play very well), but I just felt cheated.
  • MBB: Aggies (16-9 and 8-2) @ LBSU (11-16 and 6-5)
Watching the officiating was excruciating. Their little guards get the slightest contact, they go flying (because, well....they're very little) and the refs called it against the Ags. Yussuf drove in to JT and they "no-called" it twice. Keep in mind, JT is a big dude and doesn't flop - if he's back on his heels, something hit him pretty hard. JT also got an awesome block that the refs blew and called a foul. Really a shame when a bad job of officiating impacts the outcome of a game.

Enough whining, however. Make the damn free throws and we could be heading in to Fullerton 1-0 on the roadie.

Gotta beat those Titans to salvage this trip.

    GO AGS!!
  • MBB: Aggies (6-7) @ Seattle (7-6)
Got messy but a "W" is a "W". I'll take it. Got clean up to do for sure.
  • MBB: Aggies (6-7) @ Seattle (7-6)
SU loses their big dude for the game. Slight injury. Chima is back. Thank goodness.
  • MBB: Aggies (6-7) @ Seattle (7-6)
Chima went down. Lower leg. Couldn't tell if he turned an ankle, or someone stepped on his shin as he was on the deck, or if it was a cramp. Announcers were no help.
  • 2017 Recruiting
I think Coach Hawk's (and the assistants, of course) energy and enthusiasm is resonating with the recruits. Signing day is where the rubber meets the road, but I am very hopeful that we seem to be pivoting in a very positive way.

    Feels good. 8-)

    GO AGS!!!
  • MBB: Aggies @ North Dakota State
18 seconds left. Down by 2.

    C'MON AGS!!!!!!
  • MBB: Aggies @ North Dakota State
Graham, Lamar, White, Schneider and Chima to start.

JT starts on the bench. Trying to limit the fouls no doubt.
