  • Week 13: 70th Annual Causeway Classic
Santa Clara and Poly were big games for us back in the early 80s because they were competitors for the 2 (I believe) Western slots in the D2 playoffs. In 80, we lost last minute games to both - they played in the quarters, Poly won the championship. That team was up there with 82 as possible Championship level teams.

Stanford Steve didn’t sound like a big fan of the city of Davis

just curious....when did you guys start planning to make this trip? when we were in the pregame, we saw a bus pull up with a full load of Cat fans. I'm guessing that they were coming as part of some trip package. very impressive. i think that was part of what made the night so electric. big contingent of Cat fans, and a strong showing of Ag fans. what was also neat was the large showing of Aggie alumni. We met up the locker room to cheer them on as they walked down to the stadium. Lots of guys, mostly the 90's era, but everyone was fired up and high on this team. Sometimes, the guys from my era was a bit cranky when the current teams get high praise....like to trot out that old 'we were smaller and slower than everybody, but we found ways to win'. it just seems to me back-to-back Montana games are a tad more challenging than the Chico-San Francisco State gautlent. Even when we had to face them with slow, small Ken O'Brien and Bo Eason. Go Ags!

i think the game vs. powerhouse Lincoln of Oakland doesn't count for them. it should be an automatic disqualification!

that makes more sense. It looked like we had a blitz called and either someone blew an assignment or something happened like you described. It was too open from the get-go otherwise. That one hurt….but I think the punt return was the big killer.

I could have made a few bucks scalping beers out of the alumni room.

I believe last night was the first time in Aggie Stadium history we ran out of beer at the concession stands. That was the word on the east side among cat fans when we took our halftime stroll.

Fortunately, we still had beer in the alumni room (Edwards room).

We need a repeat of 2018 - bounce back from a tough BSC conference showdown with a playoff level performance.

if I recall from 2018, they hit up the season ticket holders on the Monday after the selection show. Tickets to general public followed very soon. For what it’s worth, our bid for hosting requested 1:00 kickoffs but I don’t know how much importance that has. If we beat sac, we’ll get a bye - look back at 2018 when we got a bye after getting trounced at EWU.

Maybe we can play the causeway in Reno again! Still remember me and Finn successfully convincing the Silver Legacy sports book to turn in the selection show!

How do you know the bobcats travel well? We run out of beer in the stadium!! Seriously.

I was impressed with our fan base. Louder and more engaged than normal, although the bobcats did their best to take the life out of the stadium!

I’ve been to almost all games at Aggie Stadium. That’s one that will stand out especially considering the circumstances and quality of opponent.

I don’t mind tipping my hat to the cats. Quality program, quality people. Much easier than watching Griz or Eagles celebrating

the punt return was the killer! We needed to play a near perfect game against these guys and didn’t…..and still stick with them!

Their defense was better than I thought, and I thought they would be good. I didn’t expect the relentless pressure. That’s a very good football team.

We’re a very good football team too!

your defense might be 'no-name', but they are solid. i was watching the sac game last saturday with one of our former head coaches. after he said, 'you know, i don't see a whole lot of holes out there'.

BTW, if you’re a football alum, they are asking us to meet near the locker room at 4:30 as the team walks down to the field

they are broadcasting on the Montana area sports network also - I wonder if that’s part of it.

unless we flop the next two games, we’re home after a bye

i think having a fully healthy defense allows Plough to be a bit more creative in his offensive play calling. earlier in the year, when we were VERY thin, especially on the road, i think he had to be more conservative to drain clock and try to keep the defense off the field.

that's what they said yesterday during our zoom. We will need it!

Fanduel has us as 7.5 underdogs. Had us 6.5 underdogs last week!

Apparently some 1500 tickets sold to Montana st folks. To combat that, we have 3 player parents (thompkins, Dixon, Larison) who purchased 1500 cowbells!

damn auto correct FRATS!! Grays would be the Team Aggie tent
  • Tailgating
I think there will be a big turnout on the practice field. That’s where they hosted the grays and there’s one donor who is VERY active over there.
