We often get good big men but then never use them well and many transfer. Davis seems to be the place where big men come to die.

That doesn't sound right. A team has to make more offers than they have room as many prospects don't accept the offers. So, I always thought that was the pressure applied to prospects. For example, we made 5 offers on a position but only have 3 scholarships available so the prospects need to hurry up and accept or take the risk that all scholarships are now spoken for.

Hastings has had trouble with passes longer than 5-10 yards. Shredville under Maier included a lot of deep balls. I guess Plough could change it up and do the no huddle up tempo offense but keep it to short passes and Hastings could stay in there.

Burke was a good QB at Mount Union and a QB coach there. Why not choose him to be QB coach? Cody could have been the Offensive Coordinator for that matter. I don't see how Shelton has more experience for that position than Cody. Cody also has QB coaching and Shelton does not. The move from Davis special teams and TE coach and high school to Offensive Coordinator seems like quite a leap over other more qualified personnel.

A co-worker of mine knows this kid who seems to have received an offer from UCD. Looks like he also has offers from San Jose, Nevada, Wyoming and Washington St.

I like that we are winning the close games this year. Too many times in past years we did not. Based on our pre-season I did not think we would be doing near this well. Hope they can keep it up.

Should have won that game. Free Throws!! Les needs to lock these guys in the gym until they start making them. Very exciting that we had a chance to win, but horrible last play in regulation losing the ball out of bounds and Pepper missing 1 of 2 crucial free throws.

Wrightster’s release is a little slow. He has a bit of a windup. I imagine they can work on that.

I never thought we were going to do well with Hastings at QB, so I don’t have a lot of hope for the guys already on the roster who couldn’t beat him out of the job. If a freshman came in and stole the job, maybe there is hope.

Makes sense. So he’ll have 4 1/3 years when done and he likely passed it before a full 4 years at this point, so it’s legit.

Sounds like Pepper's record should go in the books with an asterisk due to his 5 years. Audwin looks like he could still play. We should have suited him up!

I thought they only counted HS recruits and the number of recruits had a big impact. So a small but quality class would not get a good ranking.

Daft may also see Plough as an equal and not want to be subordinate to him. Not sure how old the Dartmouth HC is. He may decide to wait for a HC coaching job opportunity for his next move.

I wonder if Plough will keep Shanbour. He seemed the least proven coach. Kevin Burke has more QB playing and coaching experience. If they brought Daft back he might want to take responsibility for QB’s himself.

Seems like Les changes his lineup based on who we play each week rather than playing our game and forcing our will onto the other teams. Make them adjust to us instead. For years we sometimes comment on another team being big when we could field a larger lineup but don’t. We could put Borra and Rocak in there at the same time if we wanted to. We always play small and our big men are only there to set picks. We like it when they shoot threes. They never seem to score much on the inside and don’t seem to get many rebounds. Maybe I am an old school low post guy and the game has passed me by but I still like the strong low post bruiser big man and we haven’t had that in years.

Getting to 500 $1,000 donors seems doable. The athletics department just needs to explain the needs of the team, their financial goal, what the funds will be used for, and communicate and honor donors often.

We likely have more guaranteed funds from registration fees than other programs. So understanding the whole financial picture might help donors.
