Ags are off to an awful start. After forcing 3 straight Irvine TO's..the Ags can't make a basket...

17-16 Aggies with 7:50 to go in the first half. Defenses are dominating by both teams. Ags are having trouble defending Irvine's 7'1 center though.

Irvine has made a living at the FT line...16-18 compliments of the officials and some silly Aggie fouls as well. TY didn't start but is playing and looks to be fine. Neither team is shooting the ball well as the defenses are dominating the game. Pepper has only 8 points on 2 of 7 shooting. Foul problems for the Aggie bigs.

Play by play guy seems to be calling it straight.

Irvine jumps out to a 41-34 lead just 3 minutes into the second half. Ags can't stop them in the paint and are also cold as ice shooting.

Game seems to be slipping away after that 8 point lead in the first half disappeared. Ags shooting has cooled and UCI is getting and making a ridiculous number of free throws.

I'm tired of him complaining about the Aggies "flopping" especially since the Ags are the one getting the short end of the stick by the officials on fouls.

I’ve been in and out, did hear him suggesting Pepper flopped just now.

Irvine ties it up at 62 and we're going to OT.

FTs killing us.

The valiant comeback effort by the Aggies falls short 74-71 in OT. Irvine hit 29-33 FT's to our 12-17. That was the big difference in the game.

A weird but exciting game. Seems like the Ags hit that cold spell around both sides of the half. You have to like the Aggies effort to make it close.

Should have won that game. Free Throws!! Les needs to lock these guys in the gym until they start making them. Very exciting that we had a chance to win, but horrible last play in regulation losing the ball out of bounds and Pepper missing 1 of 2 crucial free throws.

Can't overlook that the Ags minus Pepper and DeBruhl shot 1 of 10 from 3 (although the Antgobblers only got 3 of 11 as a team). We got out-rebounded 46-30, too.

The Anteaters are a tough match up for the Aggies due to their superior size and talent in the paint and they made us alter and miss quite a few layups and put backs. They are also a very good defensive team and the Ags had to work hard to get good looks. We get another chance at them in 2 weeks in Davis.

The one thing that these Aggies have going for them is experience. All the starters are either seniors or juniors with at least two years playing for UCD. In this day of the transfer portal that is almost unheard of and has shown to their advantage in all of their conference games to date.
