I like that Plough got emotional. Shows he really cares and wants the job. I like that Sochor was mentoring him and apparently had Sochor's confidence as he promised Sochor he would take the job some day. He seemed to say all the right things. Wants a championship but that is won by creating the right environment and that environment should keep our best from transferring. We will have uptempo offense but balanced between run and pass. We had never really made the transition from DII to FCS. Hawk completed that transformation and put us on the right path. We have a solid foundation now and hopefully Plough is the guy who can take it up one more notch and create the "championship program" that Hawk was striving for.

I liked Shredville. Was exciting to watch and seemed to attract strong QB’s and WR. So maybe will help with recruiting if his plan is to reimplement the up tempo offense.

Funny, if he wasn't fired or pushed out, but he still wants to work and says there will organizations that might value his skill set and experience, then I wonder why he is moving on. I wonder if he just likes to make change but not maintain and he feels like he put Davis on the right path and it's time to move on. Or he doesn't want the grind of head coaching and wants to do other stuff.

They could also reach out to Mike Moroski at College of Idaho. He has built their program from scratch into an annual contender for playoffs and national championship in the NAIA. He probably should have been given the job years ago instead of going with an outsider like Gould.

Maybe bring Kevin Daft back. He could be ready for a step up to head coach.

Very predictable. 3rd and 10 to go, we are either running it off tackle or throwing it in the flat. Two ridiculous plays at 3rd and 10. I guess we somehow think they will be surprised or we have given up getting a first down. Very depressing loss. Just like Eastern Washington, we could have won this one. With two losses in conference, even if we win the rest, I don't see how we get into the playoffs. Seems like the season is over.

Cal Poly was terrible. We should have scored 60 points. Makes no sense that more of our second stringers did not get into the game. At a minimum why not have another QB in for the last 5 minutes. A lot of dropped passes today makes me nervous for the rest of the season. Maybe that is why they only pass to Tomkins, CJ Hutton & Gale. Maybe they are the only ones that are very reliable.

This one hurts. We just can't beat these guys. This is the first time I felt we were better though if that is any consolation. Really awful turnovers. Inconsistent play. Every year for the last 3 years or so, I come into the season really excited thinking this is the year we have a breakout stellar season. But we are not looking too good.

Larison is a stud. I had a feeling he could be as good or even better than Gilliam. Not sure what happened to all of our wide receivers. Crump no catches. Babb never any catches. It is all tight end and CJ Hutton for short passes. And for some reason Tompkins has become a main receiver. I love the guy but don't we have some talented wide receivers? Are they all sidelined because we have decided no pass will be longer than 10 yards?

Well Harper threw an awful interception last game and is likely playing Oregon St 3rd stringers tonight. But someone needs to step up at QB who can do the short 5 yard passes that Hastings does well but also a deep threat to spread out the better defenses.

2 interceptions to a weak team like this, he is going to struggle later in the season. I had hoped someone would step up in camp as the new starter.

Two good linebacker commits. Both good size. A few wins out of the gate this season and the recruits will rush to hop on the train.

Good HS resume, but a 2nd stringer on a Cal team with 3 wins and a team that we beat, how much can he help us? Unless the prior coach’s system was just awful and this kid was not used in the best way.

If that commit was a year ago when he was a junior then maybe it was just a verbal commit and he could have changed his mind and committed to Davis when the hard commit deadlines rolled around. Maybe too many guards for us, if that is possible?? I know we love to play small.

Why couldn't we land Ryan Beasley? With his teammate and brother here, seems like he would have been interested. Verbal commits shows he only received one offer from USF and took it.

This report seems to show that Cal Poly somehow picked up a lot of the top 50 so cal recruits. I wonder what the draw was? Lots of full scholarships to offer as the team fell apart and has a lot of openings or a better opportunity to start as a freshman? They show QB David Rasor as committing to Cal Poly.

What about all the noise Jackson made about his mission to return the HBCU teams to former greatness. All the recruits he sold on that plan. Now he leaves all those 4 and 5 star recruits on their own while he moves to the DI stage he talked them out of. Seems a little hypocritical.

Wow, I don’t know how some of these teams can replenish their roster when 10-15 or more players leave through the transfer portal.

Well I’m proud of these guys. They played hard and didn’t give it away. While not the result we want, we did make a big jump forward and we’re competitive against the top FCS teams. We were missing a consistent long pass threat that would have opened the field more for the rest of our game. Hats off to Sac St and I hope they do the Big Sky proud in the playoffs. And if we get lucky and get in, then we have another chance.

I was encouraged that we recruited some bigger players as we always seemed to play a small lineup. But we appear to historically change our lineup to best match up to the team we play instead of forcing other teams to bend to our play. This team looks to have promise, but others have too. I hope I don’t end up with another year frustrated.
