That's a good point. The staff usually has the team in the right position.

Frustrating loss. Too many missed opportunities and we miss Goode

Actually, that's another issue I've heard. Students never know when the games are. Sometimes it's at 6:00, sometimes, 4:00, sometimes 1:30. Not saying there isn't easy ways to find out the specific game time, but it takes the guess work out if the kids all know that home games start at 7:00.

One thing I've heard from some current students, is that they'd like have the team back on their sidelines. I know the home side was moved several years ago due to the sun/heat, but there is a sort of camaraderie that occurs when the students are right behind (literally and figuratively) the team. Maybe the team standing in the heat is more of a detriment, but it's at least worth a look.

Irvine beat SCU by 3. Not that the transitive property always works in basketball, but at least we are in the ball park with our 5 point win over SCU. Of course, I think Irvine is still missing their best player (Nelson).

When we play csun (and beach, too) it'll be who can dictate the tempo. We'll want to slow it down and grind it out with defense, they'll want to get out and run. Should be fun to watch.
  • BREAKING: Dan Hawkins to be named UC Davis head football coach
Just saw the news on the Sportscenter ticker. Doubt we could have hired any other coach that would have warranted an ESPN bottom line mention.
  • WBB: Hofstra @ the Aggies
Good point about Bessolo. There was a point in the 2nd half where she came in a got at least a few rebounds in traffic. I'm guessing that the coaching staff had told her she needed to bound the boards. This out of conference schedule should help her get accustomed to D1 ball...it'll be fun to watch her maturity.

Hopefully the rebounding issue was just an anomaly. The one that killed us was with about 10 seconds (or so) left, down by 2, Hofstra missed their second FT, only had one person rebounding, and she out muscled 3 Aggies. We had to foul her, she hit both FTs and that's the ball game.

Honestly, it didn't look like a physical mismatch, more of a lack of effort to rebound. I'm sure Coach Gross will make that a point of emphasis in practice this week.

Lay ups and rebounding killed us today. Seems like the team played a little lethargic.
  • MBB: Aggies vs Oakland (3rd Round, Great Alaska Shootout Consolation)
Sounds like the team got tired down the stretch. Need to learn from this tournament
  • MBB: Ags vs Drake (2nd Round, Great Alaska Shootout Consolation Bracket)
Nice win by the Ags. I like the tenacity to come back after such a beat down yesterday.

We certainly could have used Goode last night, though he wouldn't made a difference in the outcome. Just would have been nice to have a full team

Hopefully we play with better intensity today
  • MBB: Enough length to compete at the highest levels
That's good to hear. Seems that with Lemar, Graham and White graduating (along with JT and Georgi) there will be minutes available in the back court / wings next year.
  • MBB: Enough length to compete at the highest levels
Add in Storm, who may not have quite the height at 6'8", but certainly the bulk at 240lbs (and maybe still growing).

Interesting new offer on verbal commits...Robby Beasley, who is a high school freshman this year. Maybe it's happened, but I can't remember another freshman that we made an offer to.
  • Coach Gould
Good for Coach Gould. Wish him nothing but the best.
  • MBB vs Sac State
    Great picture!!

This is a really easy team to root for. They work hard, work together, and play smart, unselfish ball. BW will be very interesting this year. We looked last night on the way home, and we have 3 D1 wins so far, no one else in the BW has more than 2 D1 wins, and several (UCSB, LBSU) have none. It's early, but it's a very nice start!

    Go Ags!

A lot more sdsu and cal fans. Could be the better start time but we need to get to that level of support.
