Ags up 8-2 at the first timeout. Sounds like we've missed a few easy ones including a no contest layup by Anigwe, but good defense so far.

I just saw that...No video up yet. I'm listening to the radio broadcast right now. Ugh!

Beach seems to generally be more athletic then the Ags, but Les figures ways to compensate for that. Usually makes for a good fun game to watch.

Hopefully we come out with good energy.

I guess the oddsmakers haven’t noticed our Friday funk.

If we can continue to get good offense from Fuller, to go along with Manjon and Pepper, and good interior defense from Koehler and Anigwe, we should be able to start putting victories together. Anyone heard anything about Squire's availability? Last weekend I saw Les call him game to game, so hopefully we get some minutes from him.

As for the odds, I have no idea, but my daughter, who does a lot of statistical work (population genetics) says it's 75% X 75% = 56%.

Also, check out the big matchup on the women's side. Beach is a perfect 10-0 in conference (11-1 overall) so the Ags will need to bring their A game this weekend.

  • WBB: Aggies (5-0) @ #12 Oregon (11-3) 6 pm Saturday 2/06
Fantastic game. I've been complaining for years that, while I don't expect victories against the top Pac-12 teams, we need to be competitive on a regular basis. This is what I've been looking for. Yes, we ran out of gas in the 4th, but overall, the team really played well. We got open shots, played solid defense and were in it down to the end. Nice job Aggies!

Yeah that is my understanding. Plus, when you figure that the overall record doesn’t really matter with all the cancelled games, why not play all the players. Sure you might lose a game now but it’ll pay off down the road. I wonder if our only senior, Koehler stays next year.

We’ll good overall game. Obviously got a little shaky there for a bit but you got to love the determination to finish off strong.

BGA I agree with the number of guys getting in the game. Pehka was aggressive but just needs more court time. Same with McGill. Seems like they both will develop into good rotation players in a few years.

Should be a festive bus ride home!

When Fuller is rolling he’s very fun to watch. I suspect Csun will double him when he gets the ball on the block as they didn’t seem to have anyone that could matchup with him one on one. It’ll be up to him to make the right pass out of it and for someone to hit an open three!! Not having Squire really hurt on the defensive end. Ba did ok against Starks but Squires strength would give us another option.

Hmm, a point and a half, huh? Like you said, our track record on Friday's hasn't been stellar. It'll be good to have Herenda on the mike for ESPN. He's knowledgeable about the BW and is fairly even between the two teams. The guys from UCSD a few weeks ago weren't bad at the in game call, except when they broke into song (no I'm not kidding).

that’s a good question. I assume it will be streamed somewhere, probably on Pluto, but we’ll see as it gets closer

Looks like we will be in local tv for the home games!

If anyone is interested in learning more about what is being done to deal with the homeless issue in Davis specifically, go to https://daviscommunitymeals.org/ They started off in the 90's providing meals to the low income in Davis and have grown to now provide affordable housing, transitional housing, and many more services. I've worked with them in the past and it is a very good group of caring individuals.

Yeah we’ll definitely be battling up hill. It will be interesting to watch our bigs play against size, rather then what UCSD and UCSB brought.
  • MBB: UCD vs. CSUN, Friday, Feb. 5, 4:00 pm
That's a good question. I know that in normal years, a limited (1 or 2) games against non-D1 schools count in your record. Any more are considered scrimmages. My gut feeling is that all 3 of the games you mentioned will count towards the required 13, but I definitely don't know that for sure. The women added this weekends game mostly to get above that minimum number also. Also not sure if BW tournament games count towards the min (I think they do, but again, not sure).
  • MBB: UCD vs. CSUN, Friday, Feb. 5, 4:00 pm
Hoping we come out a play better on Friday...we seem to be struggling on the front end of these back to backs. I must admit that I haven't really watched any CSUN this year. They lost practically their whole team from last year, so I know expectations weren't too high. If Manjon and Pepper continue to play like they did on Saturday, and maybe add in a healthy Fuller (hopefully?) we might be able to put one or two in the win column.
