I think its pretty common the OC is in there coaching the offense during timeouts. Same with the DC and the defense. The coordinators are calling the plays (someone correct me if i'm wrong in Davis' case)

I agree: business-like. The kids have bought in to Hawkins' message. He has been able to convey Aggie Pride extremely well - I'm guessing he's the best ambassador since Sochor himself. He is a special coach who has an amazing ability to connect with people and command respect. We are lucky to have him. The entire program is just better - every player getting the most out of their abilities.

I have a sneaking suspicion Idaho State is overrated, and we win by a healthy margin. I also have a feeling we are underrated.

I'm not sure of the statistics, but I have a feeling we are penalized more than a healthy amount.

The 2006 team was talented, but a brutal schedule showed. Jon Grant, Marcus Nolan, Chris Carter, Kays, Rice on offense. Barsi, Bergan, Amos, Faletoese, and Adam Cook on defense. And don't forget: Emo the kicker!

I feel like we have this discussion every time we string a couple good games together.

I can't even buy my kids an Aggie football jersey at the bookstore or the game. They don't even sell hats that the coaching staff wears. We can't decide between logos and we use them all (Davis, two versions of the 'CA', Arena league mustang, athletics department "UC Davis" vs. University "UC Davis")

This stuff seems minor, but it shows where UCD's head is at when it comes to football.
On top of that, I would argue that football in general isn't terribly popular right now with all the CTE issues and resent deaths.

The product on the field is getting better, but Davis has a loooong way to go.

UNCO is allowing 41.5 points per game, good for 12th in the Big Sky.

10th in rushing defense (287.5 ypg). I suspect we will try to run early and often. (their pass defense is actually good- 2nd in ypg).

All the gold helmets are shiny. At Stanford they put a gold sticker with blue outline on the gold helmet.

I think a blue Cal Aggie logo would look sweet on the gold helmet.

Tehran is a beast. Him with Gilliam and Modise are tough to stop. They stay fresh all game.
Maier again missed some key throws. One was a sure TD to Doss. And hanging Gilliam out on the big hit.

Great win for the program! Hawkins and co. are doing a fantastic job. The level of play is so much higher these past 2 years.

We should have beaten SJSU by more, should have lost to Stanford by more, should have beat USD by more. I have no idea how good the Ags really are. That said, I think we are underrated :D We also have the Dan Hawkins factor - he is getting these kids to perform to their potential.

I love the idea of getting CJ on the field at WR. Good athlete. This should have happened earlier IMO.
I know the idea of losing a backup QB to injury doing something other than playing QB is not good, but maybe we are deep enough at QB to allow him to be used more on offense.
