  • 2026 Football Recruiting
Cal Poly just signed a guy I believe....He must have been confused about how this works!

Sadly for CSUS, you are right.

If they can't get Taylor within a couple weeks, Sac might have to give it to Kris Richardson. He's a Hornet at this point, and he's there now. It might keep some current players and commits around to field a team and fill the schedule next year.
They really don't have time to mess around.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
These guys are looking like they won't even play 10 games next year at this point.
Crazy amount of scheduling to get 6-8 more games before August.
There doesn't seem to be any hurry either......
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
4 games on next year's schedule, no conference, no head coach.
    Better get moving.

Its gotta be Troy Taylor, and like tomorrow, if they want to save this thing.
Such an absolutely shame they burned the Big Sky bridge. Can't go back and re-group over the next few years to try to do the FBS move right.

I actually wonder if the program itself is in trouble at this point.
  • Coaching Carousel
They either make a splash hire in a month, or they start over completely AGAIN.

Sac cant be an attractive job at this point, right?
Things are about as bad as they can be right now over there.

I envisioned Marion and Wood screaming at eachother behind the scenes all year. Seems like their personalities would just be volatile. Wood seems like he'd be sticking his nose everywhere. We'll probably never know.

Marion sites "not being FBS in 2026" as a deciding factor. That's an easy out.
I imagine he'd site "I did my job" if they were moving to FBS in 2026. Also an easy out.

The bottom line is he's likely tripling his salary.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: #9 Rhode Island (11-2) @ #8 UC Davis (8-3)
Do I remember correctly that Hawkins was way less conservative about playing guys?

I won't argue the depth issue though. Top-tier programs are DEEP.

As much as I'd love to say we are banged up, every single team is banged up....and everyone healthy enough to be on the field has something that hurts, I'm sure.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
He's highlighting the fact that Davis signed every single early commit yesterday, while Sac signed 11 of 34. While the reason may be valid, not a good look. Everything isn't ok over there.
Guys who commit to Davis want to be in Davis.
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
One of the comments on this video ....
"If we are to believe that the message boards reflect the fan bases, Davis fans are insanely analytical, completely opposite the average message board experience. So I believe they’re capable of waiting things out for the right move."
If Davis fans know how to do anything....its wait for stuff
  • Pinnick honors
The type of guy the coaches need to find a way to touch the ball, it sounds like.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Just breezed through Sac's X.....looks like they are recruiting across the country. I'd guess to help with FBS aspirations (getting the name out)?
2 HS commits from Florida, 1 HS commit from Pennsylvania.

I personally haven't seen Eason touch a football so I have idea on him. Cleeland from what I saw at UW (and some x/hudle stuff)looks extremely physically capable. Good size 6'2" 220# and looks like he can move around a bit, with a cannon.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Sac needs to get rid of this guy. Sac will play at an "upgraded Hornet stadium in 2026"? They aren't upgrading sh*t. Maybe some more folding tables and EZ-Ups in the end zones and some ad signs.
Nobody listens to this guy anymore. He has ZERO credibility.
  • 2025 FCS Playoffs
That's why they play the games!
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: #9 Rhode Island (11-2) @ #8 UC Davis (8-3)
The playoffs are always a good reminder of the limited support this program hasLeFan

While playoff attendance utterly sucks across the country, you aren't wrong.
Going from 17,000 vs. Southern Utah to (presumably) 6,000 in a playoff game on national TV is wild. Goes to show how much people in CA (students and community) care about the actual football.

This can change though! I think Plough has things moving in a good direction, but he needs some real commitment from the people in Mrak, etc. Can't do it by himself, and neither could Hawk. It takes more than an energetic HC and AD.
