We've had taller / bigger CB's in recent years. Its made for a far more competitive secondary, I'd say.

Looks like Davis is the best school academically to offer him so far. That probably matters for an Ivy guy.
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
It's hard to take anything as fact on X just because it has quotes around it.
    But Sam Herder is reputable.

Interesting to see the rumor come out.....
  • QB1 in 2025
Maybe need to be careful with Wrighster. Seems like he's a guy who could bolt and play somewhere right away.
I'm with Riveraggie at this point. Open up the competition.

As far as I can tell, Blake Cotton CB (junior?) and Kavir Bains CB (senior) are the only Aggies in the portal so far (?)

You have to trick the site by clicking on the "commits"......then change the drop down to "2025"
They are slow to update Davis. Idaho has 8 guys listed already.

EWU's Kekeo Visperas QB 6' is in as well.
Cal Poly had an OL commit to Michigan.

Montana QB Logan Fife transfers to NM State.

Decommit from Cal Poly -> Fresno State -> Minnesota -> Montana -> NM State.......jeez.
  • 2025 Football Recruiting
DE seems like a need to my eye.

I would say we are deep, but inexperienced at QB. I think its a delicate balance between keeping a commitment to the guys we recruit as well. I would guess Plough rolls with what we've built at QB. But who knows...
  • 2025 Football Recruiting
Browsing over the transfer portal list.......would be nice to land a strong RB1.
  • Jason Eck leaving Idaho for New Mexico
QB1 Jack Layne hits the portal. OUCH.
    WR1 Dwyer as well. OUCH. Was a 3-star as a recruit, now a 4-star as a transfer.

Dwyer should come down to Davis :starstruck: But he's from Washington....and could end up at UDub or WSU honestly. Boise?
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Sac AD and this "SAC12" thing has come off as really reckless throughout this FBS stuff...and now with the coaching change.

The whole thing just looks really desperate.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Uhhhh....is he actually a football coach?
Wikipedia says he was hired a OC for an Alliance of American Football team in 2018. But it doesn't say how long he actually coached.
According to a Google search "Vick has no formal college football coaching experience"

Sounds crazy to pay this guy a boatload (presumably) and not give McClure (who has great experience and program ties) a shot for less?

These are SAC12 publicity stunt activities. Sac is really going about this thing all wrong, man.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Don't tell their fans that....they have been led to believe by the SAC12 group that they are ready to go tomorrow. I think the lesson here is "pledge" money is very different than "cash-in-hand."

Sac is talking about announcing something "big" in the next week or so....I guess we'll see if its football HC or conference/stadium related.
  • Considering a new Business
This feels like as close as it gets....

The problem with downtown establishments is that one wouldn't even realize the Aggies exist when walking in. No signs, no banners, no jerseys on the wall, no helmets, no blue and gold.

Its all fights and NFL, because that's what people in Davis want, apparently.

If you opened a place, I'd be there every time I'm in town!
  • FCS national championship to move to FirstBank Stadium (vanderbilt) for 2026-2027
I'm sure the NCAA has many reasons for the FCS championship game not being in CA. Otherwise it'd have been here by now.
These would be really cool SoCal locations though....

Dignity Health Stadium in Carson (LA Galaxy) seats 27,000. (Chargers played a season there?)

BMO Stadium next the the LA Coliseum (LAFC) seats 22,000.

  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
McClure seems like a good choice at this point. It might be time to try someone with deep emotional ties to the program that might want to stick for a few years. This has worked for UCD.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
I don’t think this whole thing is really about the Hornets so much as private business interests trying to obscure behind a benevolent looking frontfugawe09
    :fire:
  • Quarterfinals Week 16: UC Davis (11-2) @ South Dakota (10-2)
Sloppy game by both teams. When you start getting into game 13, 14+ things just get really tough physically and mentally. Guys are tired and / or hurt, etc.

This was one of those games where things just kinda caught up to the Ags.

Nothing to hang heads about! This team was picked 4th or 5th in the Big Sky by almost everyone - they proved a lot of people wrong and were really fun to watch along the way!

Almost no margin for error….made far too many.
