Absolutely. And after all that, a lot is determined on gameday. Gameplan, game management, and personnel management during those 4 quarters.
It all amounts to a really difficult job. Some guys are great at it, most are adequate, and quite a few aren't a great fit for it.

*edit* Yes, HC brings in assistants to help and that's a talent in itself- finding/knowing and recruiting those guys.

We had a great guy, who failed at most of it.

This what I've been saying as well. He might not be HC material, but he might be. Still early.

    What caused this?
Why the preponderance of minors being raped?
    movielover

I don't have the answer to this, but I'm not going to start theorizing about "black and brown people" (often masked as "immigration" or "the left") being the cause.....which seems to be an undertone in all your posts...please correct me if I'm wrong.

France = 110 rapes per day, 40,000 per yearmovielover

1,871 rapes per day in America.
Though, US population is 5x France. I'm no mathematician (and please correct me if I messed this up), that's still 3x more rapes per day per capita than France. Where are women less safe?

I feel comparative stats are important.

So, a "temporary" stadium off-campus to replace their "temporary" stadium on campus?

At least they owned the stadium and land at Hornet Stadium. This is perplexing.
When they get booted from the Cal Expo lease, at least they can come back to Hornet Stadium and renovate it.

This stinks of a Wood / Marion resume builder: "got a new stadium built in record time" even though it might not be in the best interest of Sac State University. None of this has been.....

Yes! Attendance generally trending upward in the first 2 games. Something to build on.
  • Weber State @ UC Davis
A big question for me is do we repeat the pattern of past years, attendance-wise? Big "Back to School Day" attendance followed by disappointing attendance the following home game:

    2022
San Diego 14,394 (Welcome Back Week)
    #12 Weber St. 8,822

    2023
Eastern 14,724 (Back to School Day)
    #13 Montana 9,576 (Homecoming)

    2024
Utah Tech 14,832 (Back to School Day)
    #5 Idaho 8,921

    2025
Southern Utah 17,217 (Back to School Night)
    Weber St. 12,238 (Ag Day)

There has to be a way to get the students to show up for more than 1 game a year.

Depends on the individual....Lan stayed, Teddye left, for instance.

Cofield and Vargas are absolute ballers.

Please feel free to start a thread in the OT board for all things European crime.....

Was just going to say this. Also, these guys have been in college for a loooong time. Another year would be a 6th.

I totally get it and agree with you. He has to keep his promises or nothing else matters. Lan covering punts gets him reps for NFL scouts and keeps him at Davis in the NIL era.
    Both opinions are valid.
  • Weber State @ UC Davis
four games played max right? But the Connors boys I think are in their fifth or sixth year, right? I’m not sure how it would play out.
  • Weber State @ UC Davis
I think Tim Plough is doing a great job.
  • Weber State @ UC Davis
disagree. See my post above. I think Plough loves these guys and wants them to enjoy their college experience.
Delicate balance between keeping these guys in Davis and giving them a little money and letting them go.
Ultimately, it’s the players decision, of course.
It’s a tough situation and delicate balance.
    Hard job.

Rex walking with ice. Porter, still in the tent last I saw.

NIL ruining college football. “Stay at Davis and do cool stuff, like get carried for TDs.”
  • Weber State @ UC Davis
The families hanging out watching the game around the 50 is so cool. I hope we never lose that.

I just laugh. Most of them are fine over there. A few have anger issues....
