They might as well have run the double wing. 3 completed passes is a joke

Made it out from Boise for the game. Fun time walking through campus for the first time in a few years. I was very grumpy in the 2nd and 3rd quarter but proud to see the players step up to make the plays we needed in the 4th for the win. I knew Sac was having trouble throwing the ball but 17 yards? Dang.

Sac actually completed 4 passes. Ty Richardson was the top receiver.

The JV team beat Sac. Ha! Their AD, University PR, or both, got Dr. Wood to stop the inappropriate remarks.

Leaving the BSC is so odd, all the dice on the Pac 12? Sounds like his wheeler dealer brother had major influence. They should have stayed put, and improved the on-campus stadium unless T Gould gave them an invite. Really bad timing w campus and Federal finances.

I feel bad for the Sac community, people like Coach Mattos. Locals I knew are always cordial and asking how the Aggies were doing.

They shouldn't. And neither should NAU. Big Sky should be a 3 bid league this year. NAU would have had an argument had they won yesterday, but getting thumped by a 4-8 Weber was the nail in the coffin.

Can all those sac fans who bought fcs championship tix after dr wood told them, get their refund?

Sad situation over there. Lots of doom and gloom. Just like over here during the Gould years.

    Things can turn around fast.

Yes, things certainly can turn around quickly. That being said, I think Sac currently has a lot more stacked up against them than us in the Gould years. We were just bad back then plain and simple. They have coaching, roster, scheduling, and facilities questions on top of not living up to their own predictions of being national championship bound.

Easily solved if Dr. Wood and AD Orr realize the Pac-12 dream isn't happening right now.

    - Talk to the BSC about re-admission
    - Cancel Cal Expo nonsensical plans
    - Phased plan to rebuild the current, ON-campus stadium

Marion can recruit, and he's smart enough to tweek his offense and decision making.

They would probably have to pay like the Utah schools did and there would be real push back from the northern schools who think the conference is too big.

That would require them to admit that their months and months of bs were nothing more than bs. I don't think the ego would allow that.

By the time Sac might be willing to eat humble pie, BSC might have the conference football schedule in the works, or even finished. Remember, the conference is moving to a 9-game schedule next season. Makes redoing things more complicated.

Would BSC even be willing to take Sac as a football only member, knowing that they’d still be intending to leave? Sac’s other sports are committed to the Big West.

Bad job scouting and game planning. The Davis D is pretty good playing in a phone both. The spread run game Sac had going earlier in the year would have been a real problem but they opted for a lot of tight stuff. Great job by the D and Rutchena played the best game of his career at LB.

since you are engaged in their ‘it’s their fault there’s no more Causeway’, can you ask for an example of a FCS-FBS rivalry that we can model the causeway on?

It’s true that they tried to buy out Stetson and pay in Davis, but Stetson is coming for cheap and it’s a ‘should win’ game. After a OOC featuring a FBS Bowl team, a top10 team across the continent and 2 (soon to be) BSC teams, I think we’re leaning toward softer OOC next year.

I actually agree with this. It might not be too late to scrap the entire thing and do it the right way. It might be in the best interest of the CSU. I question CSUS's leadership at the moment.

there is NO WAY IN THE WORLD the Big Sky rolls the welcome mat back out for the Hornets! For non-football, the Big West is a better fit for them.......its just that pesky football issue that makes this less than ideal.

can you ask for an example of a FCS-FBS rivalry that we can model the causeway on?DrMike
We know the answer to that one.

I was going to ask them if they (if they were to remain FCS) would want to play FBS San Jose State every year @ SJSU for $350k and go about 2-13 over the next 15 years, leaving about $5 million on the table....as well as program exposure.

But there is only one guy on that board that is interested in logical conversation.

The biggest problem, for me (aside from the $), is playing a rivalry game at their place every year. Never playing the game at home is dumb.

Oh, I definitely agree. They spit on the Big Sky by leaving early. BSC probably won't even pick up the phone. But if I'm Sac I might start begging.

Yes, they risk a mass roster dump soon to the portal.

Don't forget freshman DL Jaden Few, he came up huge yesterday, as did Kai Acia.

Any chance we recover any other injured players w two week gap?
