Fair enough, didn't want to insinuate that you love the Hornets or anything. I do think that the disparity between FCS and FBS will continue to grow unless at least some NIL restrictions are put in place. That being said, I don't think FCS is entirely doomed. I think Montana and Montana State could go FBS, but I think there's enough teams left in FCS and the Big Sky that it could continue to function. I just think Sac State's ambition to be taken seriously through forcing their way to FBS despite not being prepared for it is truly going to be their downfall. They could have stayed in FCS and likely have been fine.

Yeah his post game presser was deflating. I’m sure it’s hard after a tough loss like that but he seemed defeated and dismissive. I hope he’s able to progress with more reps as the season goes on. Also, the WSU offense seams to be missing when it comes to big time production (in playcalling or depth). Kansas State and Washington are tough teams to play to start the year.

Boise's new North End Zone project is interesting. Pros- more revenue for program from high dollar tickets, plus more food options and eases fan movement. Con- noticeably lessens the home field advantage in that end- going from 3000 rowdy fans in cheap aluminum bleachers to 1500 wine and cheese folks.

I took it to mean overall as a program rather than that they've never been good. They had a really good 3 seasons (could have been 4 but Covid) with Taylor and that's literally it. They made 1 appearance in the DII playoffs and 4 in the FCS (3 with Taylor, 1 the year after he left). Made the QF once, never made the semis.

I guess it comes down to how you define top program. They got top-8 seeds so that's obviously a pretty successful stretch. But there's no sustained success or even intermittent success every few years.

After watching his presser, I immediately thought he had been coached by Bobby Hauck on how to respond to questions. I am sure that after last year’s success and portal offer - it is hard to struggle in this new arena and expectations especially when competition stiffens. It would have been better for the coach to have lined up another player to take questions in this situation as it wasn’t a good look for Caden. Hopefully things will improve for him and he’ll be more mature at doing these things in the future. I also have to wonder if he getting the same attention and coaching as he received under Plough.
