I went back and watched some of the game after seeing this thread. Seems like having work last night saved me from the disappointment. I cannot believe those last 5 minutes. What’s up with us just running clock and then trying to go for these shots that were doomed from the start. Reminds me of what Les set up with TY a bit in the past few years where he just went for these stupid big shots that were rushed at the end of the game after running down the clock until it’s too late to save it.
Really a bummer, will be a good test to see if we can bounce back.
Yep, poor clock management and those blocking fouls that should have been charging on fullerton. But, Les needs to take credit for that one. When we were passing and shooting we had fulluston on their heals. Slow it down without effective shots and we put fullerton in the drivers seat. I didn’t catch Les’s post game interview. I’d like to hear his perspective.
I'm concerned that this kind of loss might create a big problem with the team's morale. I can't think of a worse way to lose a game than to lead all the way down to the last minute, but it's true that they have bounced back from other bad losses this year, just not like this one. This is where Coach Les faces a big challenge to get them to turn it around.
I missed the post-game interview with Les but, based on his past interviews with disappointing loses like this, he would probably be quite upset with our second half defense. Allowing Fullerton to shoot 71.4% and score 57 points in the 2nd half and 93 total would not make for a pleasant post-game locker room with Les...
