Very interested to see how we match up against Rhode Island (strong assumption they win their 1st round game). A team that was ranked ahead of us for a lot of the season. (And some of last season maybe? I can’t remember)

Montana gets the winner of South Dakota St-New Hampshire.

They went 10-2, 8-0 in the CAA but missed both Villanova and Monmouth (top-10 to 15 teams). Also lost to a 5-5 Brown team by 7. So the SOS is pretty weak.

yeah, I’ve wanted to see Davis get a chance to beat a team like Rhody or Tennessee Tech….one of those low SOS, highly ranked teams.

Anyone have a clip of our espnu call outs? Couldn’t watch it.

Looks like Sac is going to have to hold out for the varsity playoffs I guess

Man that Montana pod seems rough. You're the 3 seed and you get South Dakota St in your first game and then likely either South Dakota or Mercer after.

LOL Sac wasn't even one of the first four out, which isn't surprising but still funny.

Sac not even a 1st 4 out. Too bad, so sad.

The committee chair just talked about OOC like Mercer v UC Davis being a “resume enhancer”. So yeah, seems like we got double secret credit for leading a tight game against #6

    Where will Marion go?

So we get rest, possible to get anyone else back from injury??

And our opponents have a long flight.

When we win, who is our likely quarterfinal opponent?

He’ll worry about that later. He’s currently on hold with American Airlines trying to get a refund on his Nashville tickets.

North Dakota St if we win our game in 2 weeks.

...and Sac has now entered a barren space of FCS independent/FBS wannabe..

I’m choosing to believe us getting a bye is the universe evening things out a bit after we got screwed over in 2022 (and maybe 2023).

The only “go go go” Sac will be doing the next couple weeks will be their players go go going into the transfer portal.

I think 90 percent of the teams excitement is that they can go home for Thanksgiving. You can hear at the end someone says “we can go home?” Haha

Please, bring out the old ag machine w whistle!

Good news, 8 seed. Bad news, if Ags win the first game they play NDSU.

Awesome! Really proud of this team and happy for them after all they've been through this season. Aggie Pride at its best!

If URI advances, that’s going to be a winnable but tough game. 8-0 in a pretty good conference any way you look at it. And most polls/ rankings have them at least a couple spots above us. Still think we’ll be slightly favored. Now for NDSU- assuming they advance, they’ll obviously be heavily favored. But can’t count us out. We’re a tough out and though we lost by a wide margin, we showed enough against MSU where I feel there’s hope against FCS elite. Keeping turnovers to a minimum will be a must. Very happy with a bye but will be a gauntlet to advance every round

Yeah we got blessed but it put us in a tough spot. Commenters were saying NDSU could be a top 25 FBS team. Thought if we beat Idaho State we’d probably be the 4/5 seed. That looks like the easiest sub bracket out of the whole field. We could’ve seen NDSU in semis forsure. The Montana’s side looks very tough. We can’t look ahead but if we don’t turn the ball over we have a punchers chance with this gritty group.

I’m sure they’re a solid team and the game, if we play them, won’t be easy. But they only played 1 of the other 4 teams in their conference that had a winning record (we played 3 of the other 4) and they have a loss to a 5-5 Ivy League team.

Massey has us 7th in FCS with the 9th hardest SOS (I’m assuming that doesn’t count the Mercer game either). Rhode Island is 20th with the 79th SOS. Central Conn is the 78th ranked team with the 112th SOS. I guess that’s why they’re playing the 9 seed.

Sagarin (which includes FBS teams) ranks us 19 spots higher and 62 spots higher in SOS.

And Sagarin would have Davis at slightly more than a 2 point favorite on a neutral field. And a 5 to 6 point favorite at Davis, if the game was played this week.

Thank you folks! I graduate in December so this was a great pre-grad gift to see the Aggies again at home one last time.
