Pinnick's also on the baseball roster, but I doubt he plays given the football time commitment. He was a .160-ish-batting outfielder in HS according to Maxpreps.com ; did Nicholson consider converting him to pitcher, because of the whole quarterback having transferable skills thing ? At .160 he would know a lot about making outs; the trick would be applying that to getting other people out.
Plough gives recognition to three new corners,Ty Richardson, Trey Carr, and new freshman Drew Cofield, two young defensive linemen, Reyne Mayo and Jake Williams, and a redshirt freshman offensive tackle David Portesano, three fast but smallish receivers, Stacey Dobbins, Zach Jones and Sam Gbatu one of whom, Zach Jones, hasn’t seen much action yet.
It's encouraging that guys in position of need seem to be doing well.
So, is it official then? Rex is definitely staying? He's promoting an event a day after the portal closes. Are we to take this as an official decision?
if the spring roster on the website is correct, number 10 Jayden Stanley made a couple really nice plays at cornerback. One was a good open field tackle on Dobbins and the other was a pass break up near the goal line.
Pinnick’s play was encouraging. He ran for a touchdown and threw That beautiful touchdown pass.
It’s hard to say with Harper because I had to leave pretty early on. The defense looked pretty damn good, but you know they had a pretty Good idea what was coming I’m sure.
I did not see Wrighster play at all before I left. I saw about 20 minutes of football
Pinnick looked good and threw that beautiful bomb to Gbatu. Unfortunate that he got injured early. Harper and Rasor took all the snaps after Pinnick went down and looked pretty good. It looks like we have depth at QB.
Our WR's, Gbatu, Dobbins and Jones are not big but they sure are fast and athletic. Jordan Fisher looked great and Matteo Perez looked good too. Fisher has that quick burst of speed and is very elusive and Perez looked like he had more speed than I remember from last season.
The offense moved the ball pretty well and the defense made some nice stops also. It's hard to tell who really stood out because the coaches are changing players so often.
The only negatives were the number of injuries and our FG kicker missing 2 out of 3. Pinnick looked pretty discouraged when he got injured after he got pulled down awkwardly from behind. There must have been about 5 more players that got nicked up but most looked like fairly minor injuries.
We moved our season tickets into section 123 near DrMike and AgAlum so we're looking forward to meeting them and sitting around some avid Aggie fans in the fall. Go Ags!
At about 1:16 in the video, in response to an unheard question, Zaire says they have all five back. I assume he’s referring to the offensive line. So what is the story with Eli Simonson?
Is he coming back for the fall? Was he there in the Spring although not on the roster? Is the five back comment not referring to starters?
