Probably didn't go the way he was hoping it would. He's surrounded himself with so many yes men that I don't know if he's heard dissent in the last year.
"New stadium will be in place for 2026, latest 2027"
They would need to be building it now to keep to his stated timeline! They don't have a plan, to say nothing of actual funding for said plan, to say nothing of building approvals to get shovels in the ground. This is ridiculous.
I think it's funny that the posters in the Wood Reddit discussion feel the need to share that they are alumni (even when they graduated), as if it makes the slightest bit of difference to him.
The-great-tostito would probably fit in well with the FBS-or-bust posters on this site.
I think he meant the beginning of construction will begin in 2026 or 2027. But even then he is now starting his back track of doing phase 1 of lights/bathroom this year and next phase “most likely” next year. In reality he probably has $0 for it yet and hopes to build some excitement with all his propaganda, move to FBS, and hoping for a good 1st year of Marion. I doubt they will have the funda to officially start phase 2 before 2027
he and his team of fake social Influencers are the ones giving fake info and propaganda to build up fake excitement to get more $ and conference invite.

I wonder if Katehi types the way she talks - without regard for “th” or “r”. Vanderhoef used to have an open office hour in the coffee house every week. I think Reddit can be a great way to have a town hall but the premise of an AMA is to ask me anything—you better be prepared for that. Refusing legitimate topics as a public employee or worse, saying ask me in person, I don’t want the internet trolls to see my response, eeesh.
Is he saying $800k is supposed to be such a huge amount of money that it represents "cashing in"??? Moving up to FBS is going to cost a hell of a lot more than $800k per year.
Actually, looking at the other CSU president salaries it does not seem out of like. For a good administrator (that would likely include somewhat of an ability to help “advancement”, aka fundraising) that doesn’t seem to be out of line. However, for a self-promoting huckster, that seems to be taking the taxpayers to the cleaners.
indeed it is the going rate, though perhaps the going rate needs to be broadly questioned. The Reddit poster questioned why the president of Sac State makes more than the president of the US. When pressed about being overpaid, Wood also stated there was “no mechanism” for him to accept less pay. It’s just a little rich coming from Captain Equity.
