Larison, Teddye Buchanan, Tehran Thomas and dozens of others played QB in H.S. were recruited to play other positions here from the get go. Most the recent QBs are QB prospects as was Trent Tompkins. Trent had a legitimate shot at playing QB.
Split time as a sophomore and then had some injuries the last two years. Definitely a developmental type. I think Plough will be looking for an experienced transfer and Hastings’ numbers this year will help that cause.
I would say we are deep, but inexperienced at QB. I think its a delicate balance between keeping a commitment to the guys we recruit as well. I would guess Plough rolls with what we've built at QB. But who knows...
Bains will be a six year player only possible because of COVID.. Several more in that category but none with the year Bains had.
They squandered Toki’ and Nava’s redshirt years in 2021, they are from the same class as Bains, ‘20.
As far as I can tell, Blake Cotton CB (junior?) and Kavir Bains CB (senior) are the only Aggies in the portal so far (?)
You have to trick the site by clicking on the "commits"......then change the drop down to "2025"
They are slow to update Davis. Idaho has 8 guys listed already.
EWU's Kekeo Visperas QB 6' is in as well.
Cal Poly had an OL commit to Michigan.
The key factor in this year's portal is the impending roster limit that most schools will adopt before next season. Look up "House Settlement". FBS rosters come down to 105 (most/many are in the 120s), while scholarships go up from 85 to up to 105) More trickle up, more trickle down.
I'm sure it has nothing to do with anything, but I'm curious if this will be the first Dartmouth transfer of a few more, and if that means Kevin Daft is moving back to Davis. Probably not, and it's just coincidence. But I'd have to imagine that the Davis coaching pool keeps in touch.
I curious to know if we actively try and to get any of our graduating seniors with eligibility left, into grad school here? We did that for Nico Rocak in basketball. Do we do try to get any of our football players to play their final year as a grad student here?
