Game is on the field. Let’s back it up.
    Absolutely. Have a great trip!

I think the game is pick ‘em. Probably get the points due to home field.

For those coming, be damn careful. Ice potential is nasty. Allow extra time. If you want some food and a beverage ( great bloody Mary’s ) go to the RED BUS that will be parked in the northeast corner of parking lot on the east side of the Dome. Love to have you.

Safe travels. I get the feel of your program is you guys are a class act. I think we’re the same. I don’t think either fan base or either team is delusional. I think they’re respectful.

    SAFE TRAVELS

thanks man! I do have to say as an Aggie fan I have a lot of respect for you guys. I love the stadium renovation btw, you guys really do a great job imo with the online podcasts and such too :) looking forward to the game! Thank you for the well wishes, if you ever come to Davis I’m sure this forum could help you out for some recommendations around here.

Just stopped in to say that I am cheering for you this weekend and hoping for a Big Sky rematch in the Semifinals. I think Davis is the toughest team we have played this year and I know your team has a chip on its shoulder with the way Lan has been disrespected in the post season awards.

If anyone coming would like to see the renovated west side and suites send me a private message ( do you have that? ). I’ll take you down before the game and show you around. It’s very unique.

Confident group of fans up there. Gotta love it. Means nada. Can't play this thing soon enough.

The deeper we get in these playoffs, the more important the first 6-9 minutes of the game are. Margin for error shrinks, time to make up ground shrinks with better teams each round.

Aggies need to break the (semi) habit of going behind within these minutes. I think tomorrow is the first game this is mandatory (going forward, likely no more home games). Aggies have to grab the lead first.

We never seem to win the toss and at least get the ball first in the second half.

As I understand it (and I don't gamble on sports at all), the point spread changes in response to the way bettors choose sides. Thus, if a lot of folks are taking UC Davis to beat the spread, the the spread shrinks. It doesn't mean that the bookies now think that Davis is suddenly better than they first thought.

As usual a great podcast. I especially enjoy the stories you solicit from your guests - it provides a fuller picture of them as not only athletes but also human beings. I particularly noted that he included classical and piano music in his pregame listening - he seems to be is own man and that’s great.

    Great episode, as usual!

The football program is really something to be proud of. So unique to have such an intelligent, well-rounded and well-spoken group of players, and high-level coaching staff. And they all love each other. Remarkable.

This football program's culture is top-notch. Sochor, Biggs and Hawkins really established something special. The ability to keep the principles of Aggie Pride rolling through the decades is quite a feat.
There are programs all over the country (like our buddies across town) who just can't "get it."

For those not on X, we made it to Sioux City! It’s freezing and smells like cow manure. 27izhfx0kmhc5lje.jpeg

Done. Ah the smell of cow manure reminds (dairy farms) me of my home town in the Central Valley. Seems to me fellow students back in the day mentioned manure smells from their campus dorms.

Local observations greatly appreciated. I'm guessing few salads on the restaurant menus, lots of meat, potatoes, pasta. Is the wind chill huge? Flat like North Dakota? Locals friendly?

Enjoy the local culture guys and bring us luck tomorrow! My wife and I love to stop in little mom & pop restaurants in small towns all across the country when we are on long road trips. The experiences we've had range from wonderful and exciting to totally weird and unexpected but, all and all, we've met a whole lot of good, down-to-earth people. Keep us posted and Go Ags!

Sioux City, around here is known as "Sewer City" as it has a meat processing plant right near the Interstate. I hope you guys have a good time at the game and around town. I agree with Yoteforever, I think UC Davis fans and USD fans are alike in the fact that they overall are a respectful fan base.
I wish we had more ticket sales for this game, but we are a smaller fanbase and have struggled in that aspect. It seems that most FCS teams are struggling for attendance at this point of the year so it is hard to diagnose what the underlying problem is. I have a group of 8 that usually come down, but we only have 2 of the originals because of kids stuff going on and the flu.
A short list of places to check out would be Cafe Brule for coffee if that is your thing. The other gem in town is a great breakfast spot in the Ace Hardware store believe it or not that's called Mr. Smiths. Toby's Lounge has great fried chicken in Meckling 10 miles North of Vermillion and is a cool mom and pop place to check out. For Bars I would check out Leo's and Carey's for sure. There is a new Brewery called XIX that I have heard decent things about but haven't been there yet.

So…I just checked into my hotel in Grand Island, Ne and there is a buffalo wildwings in the parking lot. The place is packed with Nebraska fans watching woman’s volleyball- Nebraska vs Dayton. Not me. I’m focused on the Pittsburg vs Lincoln 1-AA CIF game. Televised by Spectrum Sportsnet. Seriously! In Nebraska. California high school football. Tied up 7-7 in the second. This game may get a higher rating than our Aggies on ESPN+
