Nothing could possibly be worse than flying a red eye on Spirit to NJ with ~15 high school kids my son's freshman year for a crew meet. I will never, ever, ever again complain about how bad air travel is after that flight. It set the bar so low on how uncomfortable flying could possibly be.
Try an AmTrak, non-sleeper cabin, from Portland, OR to Fargo, ND -- I actually did that once -- you'd wake up to the most beautiful views out the window, but would be lucky to sleep 5 hours out of 22 it was so uncomfortable.
I bussed it from Davis to Conway, Arkansas, straight thru. It was not good and that was charter with 50 people I knew. I checked, this trip is possible on Greyhound with 5 transfers in 53 hours. Says book now only 2 seats left. I think you’d get less than 5 hrs of sleep.
i don't think they notice this at all. they seemed to ignore it when the first wave of MWC -> Pac12 movement was announced, and we were mentioned as possible schools to move. Between the Yotes and finals, they have plenty to keep them occupied!
John Shoemaker was a fraternity brother of mine, and we were both chemical engineers. When the team had a playoff game in 1997 against New Haven (tough loss 25-27!), one of our professors who was a complete jerk 1) refused to let him take our final early, because he thought he would tell the rest of us what was on the test and 2) also didn't trust the coaching staff to fairly proctor the exam. I think it took a lot of arguing between the dean of the school of engineering and the athletic staff to allow him to take the test on a plane. I'm glad it seems the school is more supportive of our athletic programs today. Although, I'm positive it was just that one very highly respected jerk of a professor.
Hi everyone, looking forward to a great game. Just giving a heads up for anyone traveling to Vermillion in the next couple of days. The weather isn't looking great, so take your time. Some snow and freezing rain possible in the area Friday into Saturday. Not sure how this will affect attendance, but hopefully by the afternoon things will be cleared up.
Thanks for sharing that. Lordy, Vermillion is not an easy place to get to. I was looking at flights, but the combination of flying into Omaha and then driving in lousy weather grounded me. You guys seem to always have a great team, i hope we can hang in there at your house and have a shot at pulling out a W.
This game feels like Idaho, except their offense is better than the Vandals were at that time. their DL can put pressure on the QB and make it hard to run, and they have good players in the defensive backfield. we HAVE to be quick to make adjustments on offense, because we can't afford to dig ourselves a hole. They can score and they are at home.
SouthDakota O-lineman Joey Lombard’s brother posted a live quote on the SDSU B team show that “my brother is going to feast on #75 all game. A previous chat had noted the Aggie Pride interview with Princeton where he said (paraphrasing) “we are going to beat their a@@ and send them home”. Maybe need the brother’s quote for locker room material.
I'm really rooting for the Ags this weekend. As a bobcat fan I'm torn because I honestly think they are the team most capable of beating the cats this year out of all the teams left.
I’m pulling the trigger. 6 hour road trip from Denver to Grand Island, NE tomorrrow afternoon. Then a 3 hr drive Saturday morning to Vermillion. Let’s goooo!
