According to the box score these are the players who started the game, which has little relationship with reality.

I'm almost at the point that I want us to jump to FBS simply to get accurate and live stats, consistently. Im not sure who deals with all that stuff but even when we played montana on ESPN 2 I swear it was like a snail was updating game info...

Did we start 13 on offense and 4 on defense? Maybe that's why ISU scored so quickly.

I was looking at the participants page because so many players are alleged to have played 62. Only 64 players can dress in the playoffs, so i thought the list would provide a playoff roster. Unfortunately I have no faith it is correct.

The NCAA final book for the game shows the same list.

I didn’t realize that Cade Cox did the punting against Illinois State. Plough mentioned that in the presser. Hang time was improved and distance too. Special teams performance is amplified when the competition gets stronger.

@agalum In the email the Ags sent out today before the news broke about the MWC, they included a link to buy visitor section tickets at the dome.

Thanks, saw that. I’m not going to make it. There are few flights that go into Sioux falls and Omaha is a 3 hour drive. If they make it to frisco my wife and i will go.

a former teammate and I were debating the trip, but neither of us pulled the trigger. From Bay Area, the Sioux (Falls or city) flights were both expensive and inconvenient (leave SFO before 6 AM or land after 11 PM). Omaha was reasonable, but driving a rental car 2 1/2 hours in the middle of nowhere in winter (Omaha shows snow showers Saturday) didn’t seem like a great option. I guess 5 hours when you count the drive back after the game. In the dark.

I was loving that he turned over a couple punts. A lost art in the NCAA!

For those who have only experienced the rugby-style punting of the last 10-15 years, "turning it over" is a spiral- nose up on the way up, nose down on the way down. The ball seems to carry farther like this. It can be a thing of beauty.

Absolutely! Many moons ago in my punt, pass, and kick days (ford dealership sponsored - don’t know if that event is still around), that is what I aspired to. Definitely a thing of beauty, it carries much better by reducing drag. Whelan would bang those when he had enough field to work with.

Yes, the video production quality has gone way up this year. I'd like to see them doing the same thing with basketball too.

Just because it may be their last post-game wrap up at home this season (fingers crossed), the Band-Uh! gave another great performance after the Illinois State game at the Victory Bell:
