GCU coach, Bryce Drew, was not happy with his team:

Our performance, from beginning to end, just wasn't good," Drew said. "After the ASU game (a Thursday loss), obviously it was a big letdown. I think some of that letdown came over into the game. But we have mature players. They should be able to bounce back. We've just got to get better. We're not the team we want to be. We're not even close, but it's a long way off to March, and this team has a lot of room to improve.

When you play with an edge, you're dangerous," Drew said. "They (the Aggies) played with an edge. This team played with an edge for 30 games last year. Unfortunately, the edge was not there for 40 minutes tonight. It was there for eight.

Our defense has been really disappointing," Drew said. "We couldn't execute our system. We couldn't execute what we practiced. Stuff is going to change. We're not going to keep living and watching this out there. Guys have to start executing our system, and it's got to mean more to them.

We have too good of players," Drew said. "We invest too much in this program. We work too hard to come into one of our games in front of our fans and go 4 for 25. Not acceptable

Epic win. One comment about these photos, students on the sideline. I know Aggie Pack could be a lot better but I would highly suggest we return our student section to owning the sideline and not being behind donors in seats.

So many funny memories standing on Hamilton Court. For a hoops fan in college, that's the coolest experience.
The Cal kids in the early 90's at Harmon Gym got to do it too. Total home-court advantage.
    Times change, I suppose.

GCU is limited on sports. And they have a great basketball program. On the night we played them, it was western night. Adding a theme to a sporting event probably helps the turnout.

FWIW, GCU easily took care of the Aggies next opponent, Norfolk ST, 91-73.

Wow! Sorry I missed this one. What an upset. Did any of you feel that Grand Canyon overlooked us? Given how mediocre the play was in the first few games, does anyone think we've turned some kind of corner?

I think there was some overlooking initially, but the Ags kept the pressure on. Certainly by the second half, the ‘yotes knew they were in for a fight. Just judging by the commentary, the issues that we saw with GCU, stagnant offense, lazy defense, have been a trend so far this year. Ags were able to hold and make enough plays down the stretch.

The Aggies played outstandin defense and we were the more aggressive team. We played our best half of offense of the season in the first half also and finally started hitting some 3's. Things got tense in the final 7 minutes when the Lopes really got after us and we started turning the ball over. They held TY scoreless in the second half until the final minute too but he hit a clutch layup and a couple of FT's in the final minute to seal the win.
