The Aggies kick off their season tonight at 6 pm versus the Simpson University which is a small Christian school in Redding. They compete at the NAIA level and were 15-14 overall last year. They are currently 1-0 this year with a 77-61 win over Lincoln University. The Aggies will have a size advantage over the Red Hawks but many of these smaller teams can present problems with their quickness and scrappiness. The Ags won their only exhibition game a week ago 105-46 over Stanislaus State.

Tipoff at 6 pm and live TV coverage on ESPN+. Go Ags!

Well, I was completely wrong about which Simpson school the Aggies were playing when I started this topic. There just happens to be a Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, and I thought that was who the Ags were playing but it turns out that there is also a Simpson University in Redding and that was the Simpson the Aggies were actually playing. I've edited my initial post and have learned that I need to make a more careful distinction between colleges and universities with the same name!

I only watched a few minutes of the game. Bennett looks like she will be a real contributor this year and may be an integral player for future seasons. It'll be interesting to watch her development.

Pretty strong debut for a true freshman, yeah.

Also of note: the Chaos Twins had no turnovers.

Norris looks both stronger and thinner than she did last year. I was quite struck by the change.

Also - have they upgraded the lighting at the Pavilion? It seemed much brighter than last year. My wife said the TV pictures were much improved as well.

The inside game by the Ags didn't look like much. The game felt like a 3 pt shooting challenge.
