I think so. As a freshman Toki was listed as an offensive lineman, and he’s played on field goals as a lineman but I don’t believe he was ever in the backfield. Chubba did that last year.
Are you in the Sac area or Bay? Might be fun to see Causeway.
Last game I saw a game in Davis was the 2017 EWU game where we kicked their butt for the first half and flew in for just a quick overnight trip. I got a call from my wife at halftime who told me her sister was found dead. So the 2nd half was just a shock on top of that news and it basically made me feel like the game that I was so pumped for was meaningless.Plus the Ags fell apart.
I saw the Ags win in Moscow last time they were here. Two things I remember was that night was sooooo foggy driving home I could barely see the road and second, that it was the night where four students were killed a few hours later.
In Moscow, a WSU grad student killed four students, 3 girls and 1 guy in a house a few hours after the game ended. Brian Kohberger was found in Pennslyvania and flown back to Idaho under gaurd. Trial ongoing.
How was the temprature? I basically don't play around with any night games here after the start of October. WSU I try to catch in Sept and UI is a dome so as long as it doesn't snow day of game, it's safe to attend any time.
ha i couldn’t put a number on it. It was before we had smartphones to tell us such things! But I’ve lived in Florida long enough that I need a sweatshirt below 70 now so my perspective may be warped.
Just got back from the Florida vs Kentucky game (overall awesome gameday experience btw) and stoked to see that the Ags finally broke the EWU curse! GO AGS! KEEP THE WINS COMING!
My favorite play was CJ Hutton’s 40 yard run, where he just ran squarely into a safety 15 yards down field , bounced off him and then continued another 25 yards for a touchdown. Hutton runs like a running back.
"EWU head coach Aaron Best said of Larison. “Our challenge to the defense was to contain him … (257) all-purpose yards, that’s a decent day at quarterback, and he doesn’t play that position.
“He’s a good player, but I think we made him a little more effective than we anticipated.” "
Don't forget to give credit where credit is due, coach. Miles went for 64% 329 yds. and 4 TD's, no INTS on your defense,
EWU got beat by 2 scores. Your boys got beat by a better team this time. Just take that L.
I stand by my opinion that this is the toughest road uniform combo ever (whether is the Davis script, or CA logo helmet...doesn't matter). Ags should keep rolling with it after this W.
Just got done watching the recording of the game and man... it feels good to be 7-1!
- At the start of the season I was very VERY concerned that this was going to be another shaky season from Miles, but especially since Big Sky play he has turned on the Jets... 206/303 (67.99%), 2515 yards, 20 TDs, 6 INTs. I mean, he's putting up conference player of the year kind of numbers. At this rate, at the very least he should be 1st team all Big Sky. I'm glad that he's had such a tremendous come back season.
- What else needs to be said about Lan? Currently 3rd in the conference in rushing yards, 4th in receiving yards, and 1st in points scored. He really is that guy.
- Could have gone without that muffed punt towards the end of the game. Mistakes that against MSU or potentially in the playoffs can be game losing mistakes.
- Speaking of punting... we've had too many flubs of kicks this season so I went back to the conference stats and Banks-Altekruse has the lowest average punt of the 12 punters being tracked and the only punter to have a sub 40 yard average. Now some of that may be shorter punts due to field position, but there have been plenty of just not great punts this year.
- Defense in the first half was great. EWU is going to score points so holding them to 9 at the end of the half was huge. Didn't particularly adjust well in the 2nd half, but did get just enough stops to help get the win.
"We made him more effective than..." - just a silly comment by Best. I know he's focused on his guys and what they do and don't do, but just say Lan beat you, Miles beat you, the Aggies beat you, despite Davis beating themselves for the 2nd half of the 4th quarter...and still won...at your house, by 10.
"He's a good player..." - you mean the defending Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year, who torched your squad for only one half of football last season? Won the award and didn't even play in every Big Sky game in 2023... this guy. "He's a good player..."
I just don't think that Best can bring himself to give honest credit to a team or any player(s) when EWU gets beat. Many of us here remember how, some years ago, he left Eric Barriere and his starters in a game in Cheney during final minutes of the 4th quarter just so they could run up the score on us with another TD. I hated watching his players dancing and gloating on the sidelines after they scored again while he was grinning like a cheshire cat. The man takes no prisoners.
He the kind of coach that wears his heart on his sleeve and he's had great success at EWU. He's also a great recruiter when you look at the talent he's able to land in that far corner of the state of Washington. Unfortunately, he just can't bring himself to give credit where credit is due.
The most common coach perspective is that everything that happens is under the control of his team and they only build up the opponent before the game.
How high do we envision coming out of the Bye? #6 currently with 2 top 5 teams losing this weekend and surely at least 1 more to follow next weekend… outside chance we get to #3 possibly? A man could dream…
Best vs Aggies reminds me of 49ers v Bears with Ditka and Buddy Ryan. They look at as a soft, finesse team so when we match them physically, and their best punch and fight back - they get butt hurt. Oh well
