btw, great Podcast this week guys. I'm always impressed by how prepared you are, and you both speak very clearly which helps a ton when you listen while you're driving as I typically do.

Just heard this week’s episode. Great shoutout to the boards! It’s so great to see what you two are doing… I know I’m preaching to the choir but weekly coverage like yours is what the fan base has needed for so long. I’ve got young kids as well and can’t even imagine finding the time to take on such a commitment like this without a pure passion for this program and community which you both clearly have.

Would encourage anyone with the means or ability to make a contribution, however big or small, to the show. Let’s show Aggie Pride Podcast the love and support it deserves. Go Ags!

thanks so much! We are definitely actively looking for a producer and need many more donations to make it possible. Anything is appreciated. It takes a loooooong time to edit and produce. Brock’s wife will thank you.

Sam is a great guest! Very knowledgeable about FCS football and it's topical too as he has Idaho ranked #1 in the country in his weekly poll.

Coach Plough is today's interview. Miles is tomorrow's. We will probably use Miles for next week's POD and tell more of his football story.

Send us any questions you want us to ask!

I don't really have any questions, but I think the interview with Miles will be good. I think I'm personally guilty of dehumanizing the guy in the helmet. I've been very critical of Miles in the past, but I think it's important to note that I want him to succeed despite criticisms. He played a heck of a game against Idaho and I'm interested in hearing his story.

    Question for Miles,

Would like to know what he did in the off season in improve his scrambling abilities.

Not saying that he is a significant threat to run with the ball, but I have noticed he has improved on his ability to extend plays and find the open man verse just throwing the ball away.

Question for Miles, new coaching means a new method, a new style, change. It seems he is taking to Tim Plough at the helm. Now, it could just be the experience is kicking in and the confidence in year 4 is just there now, and certainly that plays a huge part, but is Plough the catalyst to making it all click? Was it just more preparation? Just curious what's different.

Also, who does he emulate as a QB! What guy out there does he compare his game to and try to aspire to!

Question for both: Was anything held back to not show Idaho all of our cards? Was Shredville and the high-pace offence kept under wraps in the last few weeks, or was a ton of work put in the week before to work out the kinks?

Congrats on the sponsorship guys - it's great that the financial support is there for what should've been a slam dunk podcast some years ago! Thank you for firing this up, and 2024 is heating up, what a time for y'all and for UC Davis Football!

I liked Plough’s comments on APP regarding Hawkins trying to build a program, and build a division 1 thought process.
Hawkins came in at a time he was desperately needed and we were fortunate to have him for the time we did.
I think Plough is carrying that torch well.

Another great episode guys! I don't think you guys should worry too much about what the team thinks in terms of predictions. The reality is that we're not going to win every single game, every single year and I would rather have rational analysis than pure homerism (a little bit of homerism is okay lol). At the end of the day, if the team uses predictions as fuel then I'm all for getting them gassed up! Congrats again on the sponsorship!

Couldn't agree more. I love Bob Dunning and his coverage of the Aggies but to be frank I kind of ignore his score predictions at this point because under no circumstances will he pick the Aggies to lose. You want listeners to care about your opinion and the insight you're able to provide as informed, experienced analysts of the game. That's the value added (among many other things) you bring to this podcast and something you should take pride in, not feel ashamed about when you're getting slack from the team about picking against them. Just remember what Plough said his two words were for Biggs: you can hang your hat on the fact that you have the integrity to reveal your true opinions about the team, and the humility to allow the coaches and players to let you hear it when you're wrong. If the Aggie Pride Podcast is emulating the wisdom of Bob Biggs, I can't think of a more appropriate name for your show.

This was a really great episode. Loved hearing the in-game thought process that went into some of the major decisions, lessons learned from the game, and overall coaching philosophy around which Plough centers how he works with the players. Also loved the shoutout to SB3, he's one of the best in our community and hearing his name and impact in a space I wasn't expecting really shows how small/close our community can be, and how Aggie Pride is not just about football but the lifelong connections we make with some really incredible people here.

On another note... which one of us was the one who went over to the Aggie Pack and started teaching them cheers? I find that so amusing given the frustrations we've seen on these boards about the crowd noise. At some point it would be great to hear an interview with Scott Judson and Chris Perry, the Aggie Pack MCs from the first few years of Division I when we had a raucous (and football-informed) student section.

I’ve reached out to both. Scott has relayed interest in joining the podcast and also loop it in with the backstory as to the -real- Golden Horseshoe. Sounds like a great episode for the lead up to Poly next week. @Aggie Pride Podcast

I was just about to post the same thing! We absolutely need to have a regular Aggie Pride Podcast for basketball. I grew up in a small town in Indiana and basketball is in my blood especially college basketball and, like Aggie football, I want to see Aggie basketball continue to grow and get better.

Jim Les is one of the best basketball head coaches on the west coast. He doesn't routinely get the most highly rated players that some of the other teams like Santa Barbara are able to recruit but no coach in the conference has the ability to get more out of his players he does. He is also a master at finding "diamonds-in-the-rough" and developing them into great players. One thing for sure, his teams play smart and hard and always compete with 100% effort.

Wait did I miss something, like did somebody just walk up to the Aggie Pack and start telling them what to do?

Maybe to answer my own question, but FYI Scott and Chris were part of the Fan Council this offseason so they at least did get input into gameday improvements and student fan experience, presumably including Aggie Pack cheers and MC'ing. It would be cool to hear their stories on the podcast -- when I was in school things like the D1 transition and Horseshoe controversy were known but didn't get much coverage when the team was less mainstream and social media was less ubiquitous.
